Structure, Governance and Management
The Mitchy Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The charity is governed by its constitution and managed by a board of trustees who are responsible for the overall direction and oversight of the charity's activities.
Trustees are appointed in accordance with the charity's governing document. New trustees receive an induction covering the charity's aims, governance responsibilities, and current activities.
Objectives and Activities
The Mitchy Foundation exists to promote and protect heart health and cardiovascular wellbeing. The charity's principal activities during the year included:

Organising and delivering fundraising events including black tie dinners, charity football tournament days, golf days, three peaks challenges, and auctions

Funding and coordinating cardiovascular screening events delivered in partnership with NHS healthcare professionals across multiple community sites

Funding CPR training programmes to equip members of the public with life-saving skills
All activities are carried out in direct furtherance of the charity's charitable purposes and for the public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
During the year ended 5 April 2025, The Mitchy Foundation continued to build on its established programme of fundraising and charitable delivery. Key highlights included:

Continuation of cardiovascular screening events in partnership with NHS professionals, providing free heart health checks to members of the public across a variety of sites in Essex and the surrounding area

Sustained donor engagement through JustGiving campaigns and direct charitable giving
Financial Review
The charity's income for the year ended 5 April 2025 totalled £27,358, derived primarily from donations and fundraising activities. Total expenditure for the period was £13,997, resulting in a net surplus of £13,361.
The trustees are satisfied that the charity's financial position remains sound and that adequate reserves are held to support ongoing activities.
Reserves Policy
The trustees aim to maintain free reserves sufficient to cover a minimum of three months' operating costs. This provides a financial buffer to ensure continuity of the charity's activities in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Plans for Future Periods
The trustees intend to continue and expand the charity's cardiovascular screening programme, deliver further CPR training events, and sustain the fundraising calendar. The trustees will continue to explore opportunities to broaden the charity's reach and impact across the community.
Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities

Independent Examiner's Report
To the trustees of The Mitchy Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1205790)
Report on the Accounts
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Mitchy Foundation for the year ended 5 April 2025, which are set out on the preceding pages.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
As the trustees of the charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011. You consider that the audit requirement of section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 145 of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes considering any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters.
The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiner's Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act have not been met; or

To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
