|Summary of the<br>main achievements<br>of the charity,<br>identifying the<br>difference the<br>charity’s work has<br>made to the<br>circumstances of<br>its beneficiaries s<br>and any wider<br>benefits to society<br>as a whole.|Para 1.20|<br>This year saw the recruitment of four new women into<br>the programme, furthering our mission of fostering<br>local conservation leaders.<br><br>Our partners Women in Fuvahmulah led another<br>large-scale community snorkel, encouraging ocean<br>access and confidence-building for women.<br><br>PADI confirmed their continued support to donate the<br>e-learning codes for our new cohort of participants in<br>the programme.<br><br>The Indonesia program grew stronger with a new<br>partnership formed with Perempuan Laut Indonesia to<br>help lead future programmes.<br><br>We were awarded a new grant from the Adventure<br>Travel Conservation Fund to support Empower Ocean<br>Raja Ampat!<br><br>We were officially endorsed as a UN Decade Ocean<br>Action–<br><br>Our World Oceans Day event was a smash success,<br>bringing together experts in ocean photography,<br>wildlife filmmaking, and marine science for an inspiring<br>day of panel discussions, storytelling, and community<br>connection.<br><br>Our monthly professional development sessions<br>continued online, providing valuable skills to marine<br>scientists and conservationists.<br><br>Women in Ocean Science were represented on a<br>panel on diversity and inclusion in the ocean space at<br>Wild screen Festival in October 2024.|

## **Independent Examiners Report to the Trustees** 

## **For the year ended 05 April 2024** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 5 April 2024. 

## **Responsibilities of trustees and examiner** 

As the charity trustees of the Trust, trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under se ction 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. The charity trustees considered that audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the charities Act 2011. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention 

1:  In connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements; 

- Accounting records kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act and 

- To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting record and comply with accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
