Period ended 30[th] September 2024

Structure, Governance and Management

The charity is a Community Investment Company with a governing document dated 14[th] November 2023.

New trustees are interviewed by a panel of a minimum of two existing trustees. Trustees are appointed on the basis of their skill set and experience, following a dynamic assessment of the overall skills of existing trustees. Declarations of other interests are taken at all trustee meetings.

Objectives and activities

The objects of the College are to advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public including through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature and to provide support, education and other opportunities for women (clergy, lay and religious) in the Anglican communion in all cases in the context of the sacramental, creedal and liturgical traditions of the church as derived from the Athanasian, Apostles and Nicene creeds.

In 2023/2024, the main focus of the college has been gathering membership and understanding the needs and preferences of members in order that the college might serve both her membership and the wider public effectively. A large scale survey of members was undertaken in 2023 to this end. The results of this survey are currently being prepared for publication.

The College meets twice weekly for corporate prayer, holding both morning prayer and compline on Tuesdays.

The College has built a lively presence on social media, providing support to members. The college has advertised educational and worship events which are in keeping with the sacramental, creedal and liturgical tradition of the college. A digital magazine is planned with the first issue in time for Advent 2024. The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity commission on public benefit.

The trustee board has coordinated on producing the following policies to ensure good governance: external complaints procedure; IT security

policy; trustees expenses policy; and safeguarding policy. These are available on the College’s website.

Financial Review

The College is still at an early stage so has not built up any reserves. It is run by volunteers so it is not envisaged there will be significant running costs.

The college is working towards holding sufficient reserves to cover 6 months of running costs

Principal sources of funding are charitable donations. The largest items of expenditure this year have been the cost of a zoom account and the cost of a digital survey tool. Respectively, these have enabled online meetings for prayer, trustee meetings and whole college meetings as well as the means to survey the college and analyse the data. Trustee expenses have been kept to a minimum by holding only one meeting in person this year.

Declaration

The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above.

In 2024/2025, the College has been focused on continuing to support its members, primarily through social media. It has maintained its membership numbers through online activities: hosting discussions; advertising educational and worship events which are in keeping with the College’s sacramental, creedal and liturgical traditions; and meeting online for corporate prayer.

Members met socially in January 2025; and a Quiet Day was hosted in February 2025, offering the opportunity for members of the College to come together in the same space for reflection, personal prayer, corporate worship and the Eucharist. Discussions are underway to organise another Quiet Day for 2026.

2024/2025 also saw the launching of a College periodical, which was published three times in the year.

The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity commission on public benefit. The trustee board has maintained the following policies to ensure good governance: external complaints procedure; IT security policy; trustees expenses policy; and safeguarding policy. The college is working towards holding sufficient reserves to cover 6 months of running costs.

Principal sources of funding are charitable donations. As this year’s activities have taken place almost entirely online, the College has had no expenditure for the accounting period.

Trustee expenses have likewise been kept to zero by holding meetings entirely online.
