The Charity's governing document is its Conshtution, re8iStered with the Charity Commission on 10 November. The Trustees are elerted and. at a period detennined by the Constitution, re-elected annually at the AGM by the Members. Prospethve Trustees stand on the grounds that they a committed to the aims and objectives of the Charity and have specific expertise to bring to the Charity to help it achieve its objecknves. As our audiences have developed Confiden in what we offer them, we now sometimes put more modern and challensin8 work before them, but not to the extent that this deters them from m21ntalnin8 oijr record of ovory Concert that we present havinE been sold out. 2024 Concert Progrnmme Ourconcert yearof four majorconcerts began on 9 February, when the London Mozart Players presented their 75th Anniversary Concert. This replicated the programme that Mozart himself had curated for a concert at the 8urgtheater In Vienna in 1783. It featured a selcthon of some of Mozart's most celebrated works- and, we can infer, his own favouritesl The concert opened with the stirring Haffner Symphony (movements 1-31. and the first half also included a rdnge of real Mozartian treats including Piano Conrt0 K415, a beautiful aria from Idomeneo - Se il padre perdei sung bv wonderful soprano Anna Prohaska, and the Concertante Andante GrdZiOSO & Rondeau. The setond hair included another tremendous piano concerto- K175 with the Rondeau finale K382, more arias and the grand finale fourth movement ofthe Haffner5ymphony. It's worth noting that this wa5 Grayshott Concerts. l(x>ih eventl This was a huge milestone and kkcked off our 20th anniversary celebrations in style. The second concert in the season was titled 'How3rd Shelley's Musical MastÈrpiece5' and was given in reco8nition of the outstanding contribution Howard has made to Grayshott Concerts over the years in his capacity as our Associate Arknst. tt took place on Friday, 17 May. and began wtth Mozart's Ma8ic Flute Overtu, a sparklbng gem that set the stage for a night of whrmsy and delight. Mozart'S ingenious composition is a musical journey through a fantastical world, brimming with lively melodles and mysterious undertones. Then Grie¥s iconic Piano Conrt0 swept the audience off its feet with the virtuosic Shelley tsking ntre stage, b)th playing and conducting. Howard's Derformance of this fantastic concerto was a mmantic tour dp. fr)rr.p. fillin8 thp chiirch with GriÉg's rfjeh harmtsrbies and folk-inspir•d nielodles that fivoka the ru88ed beavty of Norvday. Those of certaln age may have had a wry smile. remembering André Previn and Eric Morecambe's rendition of

The evenin8's grand finale was DvoTrk's evocative Symphony No. 8. This symphonic Masterpie refierts the joy of life and the beauty of the naturdl world, and the composerfs use of Bohemian folk elements and vivHI orchestratlon5 left the audien with a sense of elation and wonder. The next concert took place on Saturday. 28 September. This was an event celebrating the astonishing musical genius of our distinguished Patron, Sir Karl Jenkins. The London Mozart Players were joined by our Cholr in Re5idetkce. Exie15i5. The maln work was Jenkins. masterpiece. his Stsbat Mater, one of his own favourites among his works. condutted with great panache by our own Robert Lewis. It had first been performed by Excelsis in St Luke's 15 years earlier. We were delighted that the acclaimed Arabic singer Baidar Albasri performed the Ethnic Vocals in the work. hringine her uniquely authentic volce to thi5 hi8hly Idiomatic music. No fewer than nine other excerpts from Sir Karl's works made up the first half of the evenin& conducted by the composer himself. and featured the celebrated mezzo-soprano. Kathryn Rudge. who enchanted the audience with her rich and emotive voice. Her perfomiances are always a MastercIa in conveying profound emotions through song. We were delighted also to be joined by Sir Karl's favourite interpreter of the violin solo elements of hls works, Joo Yeon. Her virtuosity knows no bounds, and her playin8 is celebrated for its passion. artistry, and its ability to corNey deep ernotton. The final concert of the year. on 7 NOrnber. VAS titled Wiola Virtuosity and we were able to en8age the leadin8 violist in the country. rim Ridout to perform for us. We presented an evening featuring Imo masterpieces and a musical revelation of its time. The concert began with the timeless elegance of Mozart's Sinfonio Concertonte, a work celebrated for its breathtsking interplay between the vlolln and viola soloists. LMP'S leader. ff uth Rogers, joined Ridout. who had played the work earlier in the year at a BBC Prom concert. What a show they put on! We next delved into the modern brilliance of Lera Auerbach's Sogno di Stabat Mater. This contemwrary work provided a mesrnerising exploratton of sound and emotion. pushing the boundarie5 of classical comFX)sition. Timothy Ridout'S virtuosity was absolutely extraordinary. The second half of the evening featured Beethoven'5 Symphony No. l. Thi5 is a triumphant display of the young Beethoven'5 mastery, heralding the beginning of his legendary symphonic journ. As well as the four main concerts in the Season. mention murt also be made of our annual Frlends. Evenin& a social as well as a musical event. This took place on 18 July and featured two of the greatest string quintets ever wrttten, Mozarfs no.4 in G minor la key of particular Significance for the composer), and Schuberfs great masterpiece String Quintet. Mozart use5 the conventional ¢ombination of two violins, two viola5 and a cello, but Schubert, Wishing for an eveii riLher tone, opted for two lIos. with one replacin8 the second viola. Six Principa15 Of the London Mozart Player5 perfonned the works, displaying astonishing mastery of their instruments and a deep understanding of the soul at the heart of these two great works. Other actlvltles In addition to our core concert Series. Grayshott Concerts instigated a major new inibative of OutaCh work in the local community, targeting local schools and disadvantaged older people, primarily those in Care and Nursing Homes. In order to be able to undertake this. we applied for fundin8 from East Hampshire's Supporting Local Communities Fund for £IO,C1 per year for three years. We received a grant of 50% of our bid. but this was sufficient for us to be able to forge ahèad

Work began in the autumn of 2024 wlth a term of music workshops in Grdyshott Primary School run by the Hampshire Music se1 on our behalf. We must acknowledge the work being undertaken In association with us by the HMS, which has been exemplary. This element of OLtr outreach work will be extended into schools in Bordon in 2025. We feel that in 5upporknng musi(31 activities in schools we are laying the seeds for Ip4es which will benefft in the future from an appcIall0n of classical music, as weil as encoura8in8 the rjeveiopmeni of Ehe concen audiences of tomorrow. We also held the first of our events in Io(21 Care Homes in December at Ashley House Care Home in Bordon. A numberof furtherevents in 2025 have aladY been programmed. The Friends of Grayshott Concerts are the bedrock onto which we build our programmes, and the or8anisation simply could not exist without your support. We are also indebted to the generosity of our sponsors, helpers. donors and funding l)odies for what they do in enabling us to present World Closs performance5 on your doorstep. A parbcular mention and thank you to Applegarth Farm who, as OLrtstandinE spon50r5, have supported Grayshott Concerts ever since the first event in 2004 and who have provided pre-concert meals for our events- the perfect 5rart to a wonderful eveningl Flnan¢lal Revlew and Reserve5 Polley The Charity uses Its income for the promotion and sta&ns of world-cl(Jss performonces- on your doorstepl With the format6on of the CIO. the Trustees have tsken the opportunity to revlew the CharlS Reserves Policy. An analysis of the cash reqU1ments of the Charity over the last 3 years has been carried out with the result that at least £25,(MXI of the Reserye5 are needed to maintain our operational cashfiow. In addition, the Trustees have decided that it prudent to set aside a further £10,( in the Genernl Funds to act as a contingency against any reduction in income eg resulting from a reductfon in ticket income and Friends donations. The Trustee5 have therefore decided to maintain the General Funds at a minimum of £35.(1. This leaves some headroom to place in Designated Funds a reserve for known futu expendtture. Accordingly. the Trustees have decided to place £5,000 in Desi8nated Fund5 to o)ver outaCh attivities. The Trustees will wntinue to review the reseNes allocation on an annual basis.

Grayshott Concerts PrnduLtkn Urnlted A5 from 2 January 2019 the costs of producing conrts a lnilial carried by a related company, Grayshott Concerts Produchon Limited IGCPLI, the share capitsl of which is held by two of the trustees of Grayshott Concerts (the charity). The company invoices the tharity with the cost of producing the concerts and GCPL 15 due to receive Corwration Tax credit of £28,(KX).50 by way of a claim for Orchestra Tax Relief that in trn reduces the net cost to the charlty of produclng COnrts. The working capitsl requirements of GCPL are supported by a loan from Grayshott Conrts to GCPL, which was f44,108 as at 31 Decevnber 2024. 14
