Rapid response to major and critical incidents nationwide and overseas, by deploying small multidisciplinary teams of professional Reservists able to assess, liaise, coordinate and respond in time of need.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are, For The Public Benefit To Save Lives And To Provide Relief And Assistance To Victims Of Major Incidents, Natural Disasters Or Emergencies, Particularly, But Not Exclusively, In The UK, Including By:(a) Providing Reservists To Respond To Major Incidents, Natural Disasters, Or Emergencies In The Community As And When Requested To Do So By Category 1 Responders (under The Civil Contingencies Act), Local / Central Government Departments, Through International Requests Or Via The Voluntary And Community Sector's Emergency Partnership (vcsep).(b) Working Together With Other Organisations, To Help Individuals And The Community, Plan And Prepare For Major Incidents, Natural Disasters, And Emergencies.(c) Providing Reservists To Lead A Recovery Programme For The Community Following A Major Incident, Natural Disaster Or Emergency.for The Purposes Of This Clause The Following Definitions Apply: Major Incidents - An Event Or Situation With A Range Of Serious Consequences Which Requires Special Arrangements To Be Implemented By One Or More Emergency Responder Agency.reservist – Specially Trained Personnel Who Are Trained In:i. Logistics Tasks.ii. Spontaneous Volunteer Management.iii. Needs Assessments.iv. Aid Distribution.v. Geoinformatics. Vi. First Aid
