Charitable Purpose
The main mission of Mysterious Minds is to support families who have been bereaved by suicide. We do this through practical, emotional, and community-based support, including financial contributions towards funeral costs and providing comfort to children and families during difficult times.
Who We Support
Mysterious Minds supports families across Hull and the wider Hull community, including parents, children, siblings, partners, and relatives impacted by suicide.

The 2024/25 financial year was a significant period of growth and strengthened impact for Mysterious Minds.

Supported more families than in the previous year, demonstrating increased reach and impact.

Increased the funeral donation amount, raising our contribution from £800 to £1,700 per family in July with the average funeral in Hull costing around £3,400, Mysterious Minds is now covering 50% of funeral costs, with the long-term aspiration to cover the full cost for families.

Successfully hosted our first children’s Christmas party for those bereaved by suicide, creating a safe and joyful space during a difficult time.
Number of People Supported
During the year 2024/25, Mysterious Minds supported a significant number of families and individuals across Hull:

19 families received direct financial support in the form of funeral donations.

We provided 36 Christmas Eve boxes to children who had lost a parent to suicide in December 2024, at an approximate cost of £6,100.

We delivered a dedicated Mother’s Day campaign, giving flowers and candles to over 35 mothers who had lost a child to suicide, costing over £1,000.

The charity’s online community continued to grow, reaching 263,000 followers, offering ongoing emotional support, awareness, and connection.

Hundreds more individuals engaged with our posts, resources, awareness messages, or received informal support, including many bereaved in previous years.
