Concerts

Christmas Concert (2023)

Horsell Sings! performed a Christmas repertoire with guest trio:

Anna Tabbush (vocals) with Camilla Menjura (guitar and vocals) and Rachel Drayson (cello)

The audience was invited to join in singing some well-known carols.

The nominated charity was The Lighthouse, Woking – a vibrant community hub in Woking providing activities, advice and support to those in need. A total of £500 was raised.

Summer Concert (2024)

Horsell Sings! joined by St John’s Community Choir held in St Mary’s Church, Horsell on Sat 20[th] July 2024

Supporting the following charities:

Citizen’s Advice Woking

Pancreatic Cancer

A total of £600 was raised divided equally between the two charities.

Christmas Concert (2024)

Horsell Sings! with guest choir “Corra Sound”, held in St Mary’s Church, Horsell on Sat 14[th] December. The audience was invited to join in singing some well-known carols.

Corra Sound put on a great performance of close harmony choral singing which was enjoyed by all. We felt that this group complemented our own repertoire, and it all came together with a rousing rendition of the Reindeer Calling Song!

Horsell Sings!

We were nervous about increasing the ticket price to £15 for this concert but it was necessary in order to be sure of covering our costs. In the end, we made a decent profit to donate to our charity.

A total of £673 was raised for the charity, which we donated to Samba Riding for the Disabled. The late Vicky Kitcat, one of the founder members of the choir, was very involved in this charity so we were especially pleased to make this donation in her memory.

Note: This donation was not paid out until Jan 2025 so the debit does not appear in our 2024 Accounts.

First full year as a Registered Charity

We have completed our first full year as a registered charity which has seen the introduction of a new membership procedure and putting in place the recommended policies and procedures. These include (a) Financial Control Policy (b) Expenses Policy (c) Privacy Policy and (d) Social Media Policy.

Election of Trustees

Our first AGM as registered charity was held on 30[th] April 2024.

In accordance with our new constitution, since it was the first AGM following our charity registration (1/11/2023), all the current trustees were required by our new constitution to stand for re-election. All the trustees were unanimously re-elected by the members.
