## **A message from the Chairperson** .

The Trust was established and registered with the Charity Commission on 30[th] Oct 2023. The Board of Trustees consisted of five members from various stakeholders acting independently from their normal professional roles but bringing their experience and professional skills to facilitate the governance of the trust.

The Trust is supported by a group of volunteers who give their time freely to support Trust activities (see below)

The Trust’s early work concentrated on defining personal responsibility among Trustees; organising and backing community events, and raising awareness of the Trust’s initiatives connected to the heritage and cultural legacy of the Stockton Globe. Fundraising methods to support this work were also explored.

The Chairperson on behalf of the Board, wishes to express his gratitude for the support received from donors, volunteers and other interested parties.

## **Achievements**

## **Financial**

- A Stockton Globe Trust bank account was established

- An initial donation of £500 was received by the Trust from Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council (SBC) as part of a Heritage Lottery grant given to SBC to support the redevelopment of the Globe to record and maintain the heritage of this

building. This was followed by a further donation of £14,500 as the remainder of support from SBC for the first 3 years of the Trust.

- Additional income was made from sale of heritage merchandise.

- The only expenditure for this period was for registering the web-site domain name.

- The attached Double Entry Account Spreadsheet (see Appendix 1) shows in detail the Income and Expenditure for this reporting period. The Trust’s account balance stands at £15055 on 1[st] April 2025.

## **Identity**

- Created domain names and email addresses for Stockton Globe Trust.

- Created social media presence.

- Considered branding for Trust to be used in promotion and communications.

## **Community engagement**

- Volunteers supported heritage tours of the Stockton Globe venue (13 tours).

- Support supplied to Stockton-on-Tees Mayor’s Charity Fundraiser on 6[th] February 2024 through a heritage exhibition.

- Collection of memorabilia, posters, programmes and recorded memories from the public donations and loans.

## **Heritage Events**

- **ABC Minors** , (July 2023). This was a free event to public. The Trust gave Volunteer support to recreate a children’s film club fondly remembered from the 1950’s and 1960’s run by Stockton Globe when it was owned by Associated British Cinemas (ABC).

- **The Beatles Event** , (13[th] November 2023). This was a free event to the public. Trust support was given to a commemorative concert involving local community choirs singing songs from the playlist of the night the Beatles first performed at the Stockton Globe on 23[rd] Oct 1963. This date is memorable as the day American President John F Kennedy was assassinated - news that affected The Beatles and the people of Stockton and to this day the two events are inextricably linked in local memories.

## **Future Initiatives**

- Plan annual Stockton Globe Community events similar to The Beatles and ABC Minors Events.

- Create a website to allow public access to Stockton Globe memorabilia; promote the activities of the Trust; and publicise Trust supported events at the Stockton Globe venue.

- Offer heritage talks to local community groups.

- Explore fundraising opportunities.
