CAMERON'S COMPANIONS

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST MARCH 2025 TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the extended year from foundation on 27th October 2023 and ended 31st March 2025. The financial statements have been prepared on a Receipts and Payments basis.

Structure, Governance and Management

Cameron's Companions is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered as a charity and governed in accordance with its constitution on 27th October 2023.

In line with the Charity's constitution, apart from the first trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

Trustees meetings are held at least ten times per year, including the Annual General Meeting. Extraordinary meetings are held as and when required. Committees may be created to act in specific areas, and they may meet from time to time as necessary.

The Charity has in place systems of internal controls that are designed to provide reasonable assurance against material mismanagement or loss, these include comprehensive insurance policies to ensure that insurable risks are covered.

Objectives and Activities

The objects of the Charity are the relief of those in need, by way of mental ill health including but not limited to boys and men within England and Wales, through the provision of access to free counselling and support services.

The Charity raises funds by seeking donations and organising fund-raising events.

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST MARCH 2025 TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT (CONTINUED)

Achievements and Performance

In its first year the focus has been on the two key areas of fundraising and implementation of the service provision, following on from the fundraising efforts started by the Smart family.

The successful implementation of robust policies and procedures has ensured a strong foundation for achieving the charity's goals as it looks to grow in future years.

The Charity has been successful in attracting supporters to carry out a number of sponsored activities, resulting in sizeable donations. Together with the donation of funds from the previous Unincorporated Association this has resulted in donations totalling £288,063 for the period.

A number of counsellors have agreed to work with the Charity. Marketing activity has been carried out to attract more counsellors and and improve the offering to those supported by the Charity. The first people needing help have been supported by the Charity and free treatment provided.

Financial Review

In the extended financial year to 2025 the charity had an income of £354,029 and an expenditure of £36,337. At 31st March 2025 the total of unrestricted reserves of the charity was £317,692. All reserves will be distributed in accordance with the charity’s objectives.

Preparation of the accounts is on a going concern basis. The trustees consider that there are no material uncertainties about the Charity's ability to continue as a going concern.

The Charity adopts a risk averse strategy in the investment of its funds. All cash is held at retail banks in current accounts, savings accounts or fixed term bonds.
