Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
‘VESSELS OF COMPASSION UK’ was approved by The Charity Commission as Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO) - FOUNDATION registered 26 October 2023.
Our achievements in the last 12 months include a conference held on 07/09/24 of about 80 to 100 people where we gathered to talk, discuss and celebrate activities of Bereavement Awareness Presentation to groups and home visits. In the last 12 months, we carried out 5 Group presentations with an estimate of 183 people as direct recipients with feedback of very satisfied of over 65% on information of how to navigate grief in the grief/loss journey. We find the feedback quite satisfactory and helpful as this provides room for improvement on the content of our material going forward. We also carried out 2 home visits to provide emotional and social support. This is how we create safe space for the bereaved to talk about their feelings and memories, especially those who are not yet ready for group support. Furthermore, at the conference held on 07/09/24. We launched a Care Package Campaign of Food/hygiene essentials for university students who have experienced bereavement in the last 12 months. This initiative came about by the experience of 2 young persons who have witnessed firsthand that the provision of a Care Package will provide some form of Comfort and relief especially in between Maintenance loans when going through grief/loss.
Other activities in the last 12 months include:
A new website - 03/24 New bank account - 04/24 A Young Person joined our Strategic Team – 05/24 An Away day for the Strategic Team – 07/24
