TAKE HER LEAD

Trustees' Report For The Year Ended 31 October 2025

The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 October 2025.

Objectives and Activities

Aims and Objectives

The principal activity of the Charity are the promotion of equality and diversity in sport, more specifically cricket, healthy recreation and leisure for the public benefit by working to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of sex or gender, to increase the participation of women and girls and to assist in the provision of facilities, equipment and opportunities for women and girls.

The Charity achieves these aims by running programmes for women and girls participating in cricket, providing a newtwork for Women and girls who have 'off pitch' roles in recreational cricket and supporting research in female roles models within the sport.

Public Benefit

The charity furthers its purposes for the public benefit by running programmes and events that promote equality and diversity in sport, and by increasing the participation of women and girls in cricket. During the year the charity delivered activities aimed at reducing barriers to participation on the grounds of sex or gender, creating opportunities for women and girls to take part in the sport, and supporting those in "off-pitch" roles within recreational cricket. These activities are open to the public and are directed at the charitable objects for the benefit of the community, with no private benefit beyond that which is incidental to carrying out the charity's purposes.

The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

Achievements and Performance

Main Achievements

During the course of this reporting period, the organisation has organised and supported numerous events involving hundreds of participants. These events have been run in 2024 and 2025 all around the UK and have involved as many local clubs as possible. However, the Trustees recognise the opportunity to increase participation on a wider national scale. Young people involved with the events have had the opportunity to try cricket, meet some female professional players and hopefully feel inspired to continue to participate in local supporting clubs and organisations.

Financial Review

Financial Position

The charity generated total income of £183,374 during the year ( 2024: £122,889 ), received from donations, sponsorship, charity events and grant funding. Expenditure for the year was £106,977 ( 2024: £97,922 ), incurred principally in organising and delivering the charity's programmes and events for women and girls in cricket.

The Trustees would like to record their thanks to the organisations and individuals who supported the charity during the year through sponsorship, grants, donations and other resources. In particular, the Trustees are grateful to Goldman Sachs Gives, the Randeree Charitable Trust, Enterprise, Ramana Media Limited, Madhus, S2 Brand and GMS FC, together with the many individuals and supporters who gave through JustGiving and other channels. We would also like to extend special thanks to Eoin Morgan for supporting through his golf day and to Stuart Wrigley for his kind donation. And finally to all the volunteers and supporters who gae up their time for free Their generosity has enabled the charity to grow its programmes and extend its reach to more women and girls in cricket.

The charity reported net income of £76,397 for the year ( 2024: £24,967 ). After bringing forward net liabilities of £22,736, total funds carried forward at 31 October 2025 were £53,661 ( 2024: net liabilities of £22,736 ). The charity has therefore moved from a net liability position into a positive reserves position during the year.

Reserves Policy

During its establishment and growth phase the charity did not hold reserves. Following the net income generated in the year, the charity now holds unrestricted reserves of £53,661 (2024: net liabilities of £22,736). The Trustees keep the level of reserves under review at their regular meetings and will seek to maintain a level of reserves appropriate to the charity's activities and commitments.

Independent Examiner's Statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

  3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and contents of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view' which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)", Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Charities Act 2011.

The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.

2.2. Fund Accounting

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.

Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees for a specific purpose.

Restricted funds are to be used for specific purposes as laid down by the donor.

2.3. Incoming Resources

Gifts, donations, legacy, and other forms of voluntary income have been included in the Statements of Financial Activities as and when the charity is legally entitled to the income. No permanent endowments have been received during the period.

Donated assets are not valued by the Trustees', nor are they included in donations. This policy is not in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 but the total value is not regarded as material.

2.4. Resources Expended

All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to that activity.

Fundraising expenditure comprises costs incurred in encouraging people and organisations to contribute financially to the charity's work. This includes the cost of advertising for donations and the staging of special fundraising events. On certain events the fundraising costs involved have been deducted from the income received. The amounts are immaterial to be reclassified within the financial statements.

Support costs relate to the main activity only, and are therefore disclosed per note two below.

2.5. Cash and Cash Equivalents

Cash and cash equivalents are basic financial assets and include cash in hand and deposits held at call with banks, other short-term highly liquid investments that mature in no more than three months from the date of acquisition and are readily convertible to a known amount of cash with insignificant risk of change in value, and bank overdrafts.
