Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the
charity, identifying the
difference the charity’s
work has made to the
circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any
wider benefits to
society as a whole.
Exmouth Pride Main Festival
Our event was a huge success and ran from 11am to 6pm on 22ndJune
2025. Our peak numbers were approaching 2000 during the early
afternoon with an estimate of over 4000 passing through.
During the day there were LGBT+ acts or inclusive acts on stage
spreading the Pride message of tolerance, acceptance, visibility and
equality. In between there were interviews with LGBT+ organisations
and supporters including Amnesty International, the Intercom Trust and
Eddystone Trust Sexual Health. This enabled us to inform and educate
as well as entertain the wider population as well as the LGBT+
community. We are aware that there were many visitors to Exmouth
from outside the area who also benefited.
In the Manor Gardens we had representation from the Police and Army
Diversity teams, SW Ambulance, Devon & Somerset Fire Service,
Trans support groups, LGBT+ inclusive Sports groups and mental well-
being groups.
Families were included in our day with free activities and entertainers.
The Esteem team and Hive Youth Services staff supported us.
We are aware of the need for Pride events in towns like Exmouth.
Although we hear about couples celebrating their anniversary after
meeting at our event or coming out on the day (for example), there is
still homo/bi/trans -phobia very evident. Prior to the event 5 promotional
banners were knife slashed in the town and an intoxicated couple had
to be removed after abusing a performer. The police were supportive
with both of these incidents and they did not stop what was otherwise a
fantastic day for all.
LGBT+ History Month
Readings were made from a wide variety of LGBT+ themed text
including non-binary language, the importance of LGBT+ visibility, the
HIV crisis and first pioneering lesbian relationships. This was done in an
engaging manner by a local rising drag star with care and humour. The
coming-of-age film “Sweetheart” (2021) film was shown with nearly 30
people in attendance and a chance to network with the local LGBT+
community.
Social Events
Although we have continued to grow our contact list for invitations we
were unable to offer as many regular social meet ups due to time
pressures and had to prioritise or main event. This has still been useful
as a point of contact for the local LGBT+ community.
Summary
We are proud to report that we achieved our objectives and have had
overwhelmingly positive feedback both in person and online.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Please see Appendix 1 for a full breakdown of this year’s income
and expenses and Appendix 2 for the Independent examiner’s
report on accounts.
We were financially successful this year and are in a healthy
position moving forward.
A successful grant application was made to the National Lottery
Community Fund for all our main event advertising and running
costs. Both the 2024 and 2025 Gift Aid claims were included in this
financial year. We also had a successful year with sponsorship,
pitch fees and collections being in line or slightly up on last year.
Merchandise sales were slightly down.
Although there have been additional costs such as increased
security provision and storage unit hire, we kept expenditure
broadly in line with last year’s expenses though we have not, as in
previous years, paid for the following year’s PPL/PRS (live music
licence), which is about £530.
All of these factors have combined to double our income over
expenditure on last year to £5068.
We are therefore able to top up our reserves to match this year’s
expenditure and are in the privileged position to have £5635.08 in
the current account on 1stSept 2025. It is recommended that these
funds are earmarked for expenditure prior to or in conjunction with
any further fundraising.
