Tibberton Community Primary School PTFA Annual Report 2023/24

Chair’s Report

1. Introduction

It is my pleasure to present the 2023/4 Annual Report for the Parent, Teacher, and Friends Association (PTFA). This year has been one of growth, resilience, and community spirit. Despite the challenges faced, our school community has come together to achieve our goal of providing the school with a brand new playground and equipment which will make a positive impact on the school environment.

2. Overview of Activities

In2023/24, the PTFA has continued to be an integral part of the school community, providing support to both teachers and students through a variety of events and initiatives. Some of our key activities and events included:

• Burgers and Bingo, Wreath making, Circus, Break the Rules day, after school ice cream sales, childrens bingo, childrens disco, cake sale, spring concert, fathers day and mothers day boxes raffles, pop up pub, Wheelie summer fayre (sponsored bike ride) : These events successfully raised a large amount of funds for the playground and equipment

• Bonfire night The annual event, which was a huge success in bringing the community together while raising significant funds for our playground.

With a huge push to achieve our playground goal, we are proud to have hosted more events this year than previous years. The participation and enthusiasm from parents, teachers, and friends truly stand out.

3. Financial Report

The PTFA continues to be committed to transparency in all financial matters. Below is a summary of the income and expenditures for 2023/24:

• Income:

• Donations and legacies (excluding Endowments Received) £15,340

• o Charitable activities £32,905

• Expenditures:

• Total Expenses: £28,199

4. Key Highlights

• Outdoor gym equipment installed (Phase 1) : This was completed successfully this year and will benefit the school for years to come.

• Community Engagement : This year saw an increase in external community involvement for example Tibberton and Taynton WI

• Teacher Support : We continued our tradition of providing financial support to teachers for classroom resources and professional development.

5. Looking Ahead

As we look to the year ahead, the PTFA will focus on phase 2 of our playground installation in early September/October. We have a few set objectives for the upcoming year and have a wish list from the Head.

• Increase parental involvement

• Contribute towards class trips and experiences to keep costs lower for parents

• Allocate an amount towards resources for each class to benefit the children

• Building an outdoor classroom to benefit our school with nature education and science.

• Continuing with the nature build, provide a polytunnel to allow children to grow their own food all year round.

• Reline our small pond to encourage nature

• Coat storage upgrades in school corridor

• Providing walls to outdoor provision which will take the edge of some of the elements such as wind and rain.

We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to continuing our partnership with the school, parents, and local community to enrich the learning experience for all students.

6. Acknowledgments

Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the volunteers, parents, teachers, and local businesses who have supported the PTFA throughout the year. Your dedication and hard work make our community strong and ensure that we continue to make a difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we make Tibberton Community Primary and Early Years an even better place for our children.
