Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.

The CIO organised a successful performance day for local young musicians. The day saw thirteen musicians take part with an age range of 9 -17 years old, from beginner to diploma level. Young musicians enjoyed having the opportunity to perform in front of their peers and receive immediate feedback from the panel of professional musicians, as well as a certificate for their achievement. “A wonderful opportunity for the children in an incredibly supportive environment. A phenomenal gathering of professionals to support the young people with wise words, genuine smiles and helpful encouragement. We are looking forward to next year already.” Parent The CIO also led an orchestral play day that was attended by forty-two musicians from across the county and further afield. The orchestra rehearsed and gave a workshop performance of Shostakovich’s 5[th] Symphony and Sibelius’ Karelia Suite. Both of these events were well received and have provided invaluable experience to the participants through peer-to-peer learning experiences, exposure to professional musicians and verbal and written feedback to participants on both projects.
