The Trustees present thelr report and the financoal statements for the year ended
31 Ortober 2024. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the
statement of Recommended Practice (SORP 2005) and applicable law.
Strurtureff governance and Managen￿nt
Governing docunient
The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constltutes a Ilmlted
company, limited by guarantee. as defined by the Companies Act 2006 on 26th April 2011 with a
registered charity number 1205250.
Oryanisational structure
The charity trustees, are responsible for the overall management and Control of the Foundation
CIO Charity and meet quarterly.
They oversea everything pertaining to the work of the charity. They are to review policies every
three years. They are responsible to make sure policies a￿ adhered to at all costs.
The charity Treasurers are responsible to oversee charity finances. They Meet every three
months,
All trustees give of their time freely and no remuneration or expenses were paid ifl the year,
except in cases of reimbursement which is declared in the charity finance account report.
No Trustee or person connected with a Trustee received any benefit from either means especially
financially.
New Trustees are appointed by the existing committee. All Trustees have Served throughout the
year except where indicated.
Trustee Recruitment and Training
Trustee body requires experience to cary out its duties effectively and efficiently. When
recruiting new trustees, the important attribute is a passion for the work of our charity and an
understanding of our objects and constitution.
We consider those wlth financiallaccounting* business and a legal background.

Women of Valour SWUK is a charftable foundation which seeks to benefit the publlc through the
pursuit of its stated aims. Our fees ft)r events are set at a level to ensure affordabilrty by the
community and at the same tirne the financial viability of the charity at a level that is consistent
with our aim of providing a high quality services to our communities.
We serve people from all walk5 of life, creed. backgrounds, rdcei gender. belief and tolour.
When it comes to our volunteers, we are an equal opportunity organisation and are committed to

FUTURE PLANS
We are looking to add on what we accornpli5hed in this year and start carrying out sessional drop
in sessions in community halls for wami spaces and befriending as well as hosting a food bank
for the community in the comino vear as Der our constitutlon.
Also start hosting young people's events and get experts to come address them to mentor.
empower and educate them in heatthier ways of livin9 such as staying away from knlfe crimes
and use of substances.
Risk management
The trustees have a duty to identify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to
ensure appropriate control. The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is
exposed. In particular those related to the operations and finances of the charityi and are
satisfied that Systems are in place to mitigate our exposure to the major risks and to provide
reasonable assurance against fraud and error.

Economic uncertainty
R¢sing or stagnating inflation and the ongoing risk of potential recession.
Greater competltlon for donations
Competition for donatbons could well increase, requlrong a focu5 on supporter retentlon ènd
stewardshlp.

It is very likely that inflation will continue to drive up operating costs, demanding a look for
opportunities to cut expenses where possible.
Public health issues
Covid, influenza and other public health cOn￿rnS could further impatt charity operatlons and
fundraising, requiring charities to Indude flexibility in thelr plans.
Cybersecurity threats
Financial informatlon can be attacked. It calls for strong maintenance of the highest level of
securtty.
Compliantr burdens
To comply vlith regulations. it is essential to ensure legal requirements are up to date, tax forms
are filed and policies follow best practice. which the charity will be doing.
Reputation risks
Any controversy or scandal could damage a charfty's reputation and Impact supporter trust,
resulting in a dmp in donations, the charity is creatin9 a crisis management plan in place to
navlgate such Issues.
The way forward
We are approaching 2025 antiopating challenges as usual and aim to have strategies in place to
manaqe events and uncertainties ahead.

Providing opportunities for the community to connect with others through community events
such as South African women's month celebration in August each year. Hosted August 2023 and
August 2024 as indoor events, and organised celebrats.ons of Heritage day In September each
year, hosted in 2022. 2023 and 2024. {outdoor event)
Provide people with a sense of purpose through presenting in educational forums such as the
April 2024 Autism awareness and parenting for black communities (an online event). Provide a
platform for exposure to those new to speaking engagements and presentations SO they can feel
valued for their contributions to the community.
Provide opportunities for networking. knowledge and skill galning as well as building confiden
and self-esteem.
This helped members of the community wlth gaining mental wellbelng and personal
empowerment.
Through the charity community events. gatherings and educational forums, both the South
African diaspora in UK and other nationalities connetted and gained much needed knowledge and
awareness as well as sotial integrdtion benefitting with mentsl health and
general wellbeing.

affected by domestic abuse, drug and alcohol problem, extreme poverty, homelessness and lack

to carry out coachingi talksi prattical skill wortshops and informatlon sharing.
b) Conductlng awareness campaigns in the community through sessional drop in events in
community halls, schools. churches. libraries, parks and superma￿ets.
c} Older women mentoring young gids in specific areas of expertlse such as cwking lessons,
household chores. adolescence and coming of age. puberty and Self -governance.
d) Taking a group of young girls out for skil5 workshop SLFch as dress codes for dlfferent
occasions, communicaty.on and behaviour around people of the opposite gender.
e) Inviting experts in money handling to come address and coach women and older glds around
financial control and management.

h) Provide opportunities for events. geared at coaching and mentoring boys. Organising experts
in the subjerts of manhood and coming of age and how to relate to people of the opposite gender
and datino for older boys.
i) Hosting events for experts in crime and ￿nSeqUenceS of using drugs or alcohol. prison Ilfe and
gangsterism to older boys.
j) Work in collaboration with other organisations to provide mentoring for fatherless boys.
4. Contribution made by volunteers
Volunteers contributed immensely through annual membership fees and random monetary gifts
from October 2022 to Aprll 2024. Such contributions made a great impact and cannot be
overlooked.
B. Achlevements and Performance
l. Summary of the main achievements of the charity. identlfylng the dlfference the
charity's work has made to the circumstances of Its beneficiaries and any wlder
benefits to society as a whole.
a.Facilitated a donation from group community members to ald part of a university registration
fee for a student in south Africa from a lone parent family. R7,376.91 in April 2021 (Before
charity was registered).
b.Facilitated a GoFundMe appeal for a lengthy loss of earning due to illness. raised £2000.00 in
2022 (Before charity was registered).
c.Donated food worth £200 for a funeral. May 2023. (Before charity was registered)
d.Donated £50. to a woman in the UK who lost herjob due to long hospltal treatment. May 2023
(Before charity was registered).
e.Charity donated £50. to a woman visitong the UK and needing emergency treatment December
2023.
f.Charity donated £50. to a woman in the UK who lost accommodation and job whilst being
treated for cancer in hospital November 2023.
g.Provided large community events free of charge every September since 2022 in a park with
the charity paying for the venue hirel council green spaces and parks fees, rubbish collertlon
costs, power supply costs. musicians costs, transportation costs of stuff to and from the part(.
h.Charity WhatsApp platfomi catered for engaging the community/South African Diaspora to
donate straight into the bereaved persons, bank account for burials of relatives and loved ones.
i.Charity WhatsApp platform catered for the community sharing important infomation and
notices.
Projects
February - Intsrnatlonal Women's Day ulebration
An online Educational /Ernpowerment talk by a psychologist and a lived experience mother on
Autism Awareness. Parenting autistic children. 40 people attended and it ended with Q & A
session.
August - South African Women's month Celebratlon-an indoor ticketed event
Speakers:
l. Women in business
2. Motivational talk. A true story of a fomier drug muse who survived prison and now helping
drL¢g users and mules to escape the world of drugs.
3. South African Embassy offlcials (Home Affairs) attended to answer questions from the people
about immbgration issues.

RISK ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT
Trustees are responsible for the overseeing of the risks faced by the charity in all areas. The
charity has a general nsk assessment and management policy which Trustees review yearly.
Current one review is due in July 2025.
Charity activlties for the period covered by the report have not been carried out on a dally bas1S.
Activlties real carried out on specific dates thmughout the year and they are of a different nature
from each other. Risks are identified by the event manager and the chairperson In accordance
with the venue regulotionsi guidance and expectations. A speclalised risk assessments and
management plan would be drawn from there and followed throughout the duration of the
evenuactivity.
The generdl charity risk is managed under the headings of financial sustainability in relation to
planned attivities as per objectiveS* public sèfety and communrty access to events.
The main risks that the Trustees have identified and the plans to manage those risks are..
The Charity's reputation, The charity's success is built on its reputation for benefitting* safety and
well-being of the community it serves.
We manage this risk through safeguarding policy. volunteer policy
Finances: Our ability to continue 15 reliant on fund raising through events.
This risk is managed by pmper mobilisation and advertisement of events to maximise
attendance.
Through the risk management processes estsblished for the charity. the Trustees are satisfied
that the major risks identified have been adequately mitigated where necessary. It is recognised
that systems can only provide reasonable but not absolute assurance that maj.or risks have been
adequately managed.

Safeguarding policy covets all volunteer5. attendees and general public In events.

TRusfEES' RESPONSIBILrrIES
Charity Law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each fianacial year
which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at the year end and
of its incoming resources and resources expended for that year. In preparing those
financlal statements the trustees are required to;
•select sultable accounting poliaes and apply them consistentlyy
•observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP;
•make judgement and estimates that are reasonable and prudent,
•prepare the financial statements on the ongoing concern basis unless it is inappropriate
to presume that the charity will cotinue in operation
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and to enable them
to ensure that the financial statement comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also
responsible for safeguarding theassets of the company and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other I￿egularitIes.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity ot the charity and financial
information included on the charity's website. Legislation the United Kingdom goveming the
preparation and dissemination of finanaal statements may dlffer from legislation in other
jurisdictions

Independent Examiner's Report
I report on the accounts ft)r the year ended 31"October 2024 set out on pages flve to nine.
Respertive responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsitsle tor the preparation of the accounts. The charity's
trustees consider that an audrt Is not required for this year (under SeLtion 144(2) of
the Charrties Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)} and that an independent examination is
required.
It is my responsibility to:
examine the actounts under Settion 145 of the 2011 Act to
follow the procedures laid down in the General Dirertions given by the Charlty
Commission (under Section 145{5)(b) of the 2011 Att): and to state whether particular
matters have come to my attention.
Basis of the independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by
the Chartty Commission. An examination includes a ￿VIeW of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It
also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and
seeking explanations from you as trustees concernlng any such matters.
The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be requlred in an
audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true
and fair view ' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statements below.

I ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Accounting convention
The financial statements have been prepared under the hlstorical cost convention,
and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities
(effettive January 2015), the Charities Att 2011 and the requirements of the
Statement of Recommended Prath'ce, Accounting and Reporting by Charities (issued
July 2014)
Incomlng resources
All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the
charity is legally entitled to the incorne and the amount can be quantified wlth
reasonable accuracy.
Resources expended
Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been dassified under
headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be
directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to artivities on
basis con515tent with the use of resource5.
The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestrbcted funds can be used in accordance wtth the charftable objectlves at the
discretion of the trustees.
