Trustees Report for AGM 23[rd] April 2025
2024 – 2025
This has been the first full year of the charity status and we still have to ensure all the procedures are looked at and the necessary action will be taken.
Following the resignation of Duncan Brammer as trustee it was agreed that Karen Taylor agreed to become a trustee.
We have had three claims from the fund and this has highlighted that there is more awareness of the fund and the procedure to follow. We also made the decision that initially all the owners of retired police dogs should receive £100 as a gesture of the support we will provide.
We obtained discounts for some brands of dog food and also an offer of reduced vet fees from some local vets which the dog owners can choose to take advantage of.
Sponsorship from local firms has been used on the calendar this year and this included one sponsor who paid for the printing of the calendar.
Promotional material has been purchased and we have to yet make a decision on how best to utilise them.
We attended our first show The Westmorland County Show for two days in September and this has identified certain areas to develop further.
Access on Facebook, Easy Fund raising are already in place and we will look at further ways to make our on-line presence felt.
The charity has sponsored five members of the charity to run the Great North Run in September.
We are in the process of changing banks and changing trustees and this should enable the process of setting up further means of extra funding to be extended.
It has a very busy year and the trustees would like to acknowledge the generosity of all the gifts and the time given by the supporters of the charity.
