**Objects:** THE FRIENDS OF THE CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION IS ESTABLISHED TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION BY THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION, CADENABBIA, LAKE COMO, ITALY (“THE CHURCH”) AND TO FUND OR ASSIST IN FUNDING THE PRESERVATION, REPAIR AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CHURCH AND OF THE MONUMENTS, FITTINGS, FIXTURES, STAINED GLASS, FURNITURE, ORNAMENTS IN THE CHURCH OR CHURCHYARD BELONGING TO THE CHURCH, PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE CHURCH AS A PLACE OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING CHRISTIAN WORSHIP.

**Activities:** the preservation and conservation of the unique artistic heritage of the fabric of the Church of the Ascension, and  maintaining it as a place of English-speaking Christian worship;  in the last year comprised a joint initiative between the church community and a number of artists from the Royal Academy whereby the artists were hosted by the CIO and their artworks later sold in Como and London
