Thetrustees have pleasure in presentingtheirfiTStreportand accounts forthe period
from the 16th October 2023 until 31st March 2025.
Structure, governance and management:
The organisation is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), incorporated
and registered as a charity on 16rh October 2023.
Objects:
To advance the Orthodox Christian religion in Newcastle upon Tyne for the
benefit of the public in accordance with the doctrines and the canons of the
Greek Orthodox Church through the holding of prayer meetings. lectures,
public celebrations of religious festivals. producing and/or distributing
literature of the Greek Orthodox religion and pastoral care in the community
The main activities pertain to the advancement of the Orthodox Christian
Religion through regular liturgical worship, pastoral care, and community
activities.
Financial review:
Total incoming resources for the period amounted to £27510.68. with total
resources expended of £18672.83. resulting in net incoming resources of
£8837.85.
This report has been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recomrnended
Practice - Accounting and Reporting by Charities (FRS 102). taking advantage of the
concessions provided by the SORP for smaller charities.

For the year ending 31st March 2025. the CIO was entitled to exemption from audit
and independent examination. as the annual gross income was less than £25,000, in
accordance with the relevant charity regulations and guidance from the Charity
Commission.
The members have not required the CIO to obtain an audit under these provisions.
The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for-
l) ensuring that the CIO keeps proper accounting records which comply with
charity law and the Charities Act 2011. and
2) preparing accounts which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of
the CIO at the end of each financial year according to the Charities Statement
of Recommended Practice (SORP). and which otherwise comply with the
requirements applicable to a CIO.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP
and the Charities Act 2011 as they relate to small charities.

Accounting policies
Basis of accounting
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in
accordance with the provisions of Section IA "Small Entities" of Financial
Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the
UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006 and follow the
recommendations in Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of
Recommended Practice (SORP FRS 102). taking advantage of the concessions
provided by the SORP forsmaller charities.
Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the Statement of Financial Activities
when the charity becomes entitled to the reSoUr￿s, the tr￿leeS are virtually
certain they will receive the Yesources and the monetary value can be
measured with sufficient reliability.
Expenditure and liabilitles
Resources expended are recognised in the period in which they are incurred.
Resources expended include attributable VAT which cannot be recovered.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted fijnds are donations and other incoming resources receivable or
generated for the objects of the charity without further specified purpose and
are available as general funds.
Designated funds are unrestrirted funds earmarked by the trustees for
particular purposes.
