To advance the education of the public in the art and science of Brass Band music through the provision of public band concerts, contests and recitals and providing training in brass music skills.

The band has had mixed contesting success with 4[th] place in the NEMBBA Spring contest, 9[th] place in the Areas contest, improving our standing in the third section, and 4[th] place in the Autumn NEMBBA contest. 

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

We have continued our role within Newark with civic duties such as the VE-Day and Air Bridge commemoration services, Armed Forces Day, and Remembrance Parade, and have also had a number of performance engagements during the year including St Giles and Claypole churches, Race to the Castle, Bandstand concert and Brass Crescendo, and a selforganised Christmas concert, culminating in a busy Christmas season with a total of 12 engagements across the two bands. 

The Training Band has continued during the year, with a number of new players and performances at St Giles, Barnby in the Willows plus contributions to the bandstand and other concerts. We have also been the recipient of residual funds from the now-dissolved Lincoln Beevor Band, identified as a restricted fund. 

The Trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission when exercising powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant.

**Summary of the main** The band has performed seventeen public concerts, two private concerts **achievements of the charity** including contributing to a primary school curriculum event, three civic **during the year** engagements, four Christmas carol performances, and competed in three contests during 2025.  The training band has performed in three of the public concerts and additionally made three public performances without the main band.
