To advance the education of the public in the art and science of Brass Band music through the provision of public band concerts, contests and recitals and providing training in brass music skills.

The band has had mixed contesting success with 2[nd] place in the NEMBBA Spring contest, 14[th] place in the Areas contest, and 4[th] place in the Autumn NEMBBA contest. 

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

We have continued our role within Newark with civic duties such as the Remembrance Parade and Air Bridge commemoration service, plus the D-Day 80[th] Anniversary, and have also had a number of performance engagements during the year including St Giles and Claypole churches, Newark Castle Riverside, WinFest, and Brass Explosion, and two selforganised concerts, culminating in a very busy Christmas season with a total of 16 engagements across the two bands. 

The Training Band has continued during the year, with a number of new players. We have also been the recipient of a significant quantity of printed music from the former Lincoln Beevor Band. 

The Trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission when exercising powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant.

The band has performed sixteen public concerts, three private concerts including contributing to a primary school curriculum event, three civic engagements, five Christmas carol performances, and competed in three contests during 2024.  The training band has performed in six of the public concerts and additionally made four public performances without the main band.
