NOTES FORMING PART OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024

BASIS OF PREPERATION AND ACCOUNTING POLICES

A) The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

B) The CIO has taken advantage of the exemptions in Financial Reporting Standards NO.1 from the requirement to produce a cash flow statement on the grounds that it is a small CIO.

C) The accounts have been prepared on the going concern basis.

D) Voluntary income is received by the way of donations and gifts and is included in full in the Statement of Financial Activities when received. The value of services provided by volunteers has not been included.

E) Grants, including grants for the purchase of fixed assets where applicable, are recognised in full in the Statement of Financial Activities in the year which they are receivables.

F) Incoming resources from investments is included when receivable.

G) Resources expended are recognised in the period in which they are incurred. Resources expended included attributable VAT that cannot be recovered.

H) Support costs include central functions and have been allocated to activity cost categories on the basis of relevant staff time.

I) Governance costs include costs of the preparation and examination of statutory accounts, the costs of trustee meetings and cost of any legal advice to trustees on governance or constitutional matters.

J) Unrestricted funds are donations and other incoming resources receivables or generated for the objects of the organisation without further specified purpose and are available as general funds.

K) Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost less residual value over each assets expected useful life, as follows:

Furniture, equipment and computer equipment 20% straight line or 100% on Annual Investment Allowance.

Structure, governance and management
STRUCTURE
The ASSEMBLY OF GOD ABREU AND LIMA is a charity governed by its a CIO of association. Charity number: 1205150 .
The charity's address is:

The Trustees of the charity are:
Marcelo Francisco de Santana Josilena Mafani Mussunda Bruno da Costa Alonso do Sotto Veiga
The Trustees of the CIO are known as members of the Management Committee.
The Trustees shall manage the affairs of the CIO and may exercise all the powers of the CIO.
GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Any meeting of the Trustees at which a quorum is present at the time the relevant decision is made may exercise all the powers exercisable by the Trustees.
It is the duty of each Trustee:
(a) to exercise his or her powers as a Trustee in the way he or she considers to be in the best interests of the CIO’s Objects and beneficiaries; and
(b) to exercise such care and skill as is reasonable in the circumstances having regard in particular to any special knowledge or experience that he or she has or claims to have.
The Trustees may act regardless of any vacancy in their body but, if and so long as their number is less than 3, the remaining Trustees may act for the purposes of increasing the number of Trustees or winding up the CIO, but for no other purpose.
The main actitivy of the organisation is a Church for the support for the community. Each area is managed by the Trustee, assisted by volunteers.
Objectives, activies, achievments, performance and plans for future
OBJECTS:
The primary aims of the Charity are:
1) To advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of beliefs in such ways and in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the trustees from time to time may think fit.
2) To relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind, including through the provision of counselling and support in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees from time to time may think fit.
3) And to advance the Christian religion in UK for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures by reading and discussing topics of the bible
ACTIVITIES
The main activity of the Church is to advance the Christian faith to the community.
The church holds Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday services which are open to members of the Church and members of the public. The primary objective of the church is not specifically grant-making. The church recognizes the significant contribution made by volunteers in pursuing its objectives.
ACHIEVMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
During the year, Assembly of God Abreu and Lima continued to serve the community through regular worship services, teaching, and outreach activities. The church provided social assistance, and spiritual guidance to its members and the wider community, fostering fellowship and personal development. Various programs were maintained to support families, youth, and individuals in need, contributing to the wellbeing of the congregation and strengthening the church’s role as a place of faith and community support.
PLANS FOR FUTURE YEARS
Looking ahead, Assembly of God Abreu and Lima aims to expand its community engagement through new initiatives focused on education, social support, and outreach. The church plans to strengthen its programs for youth and families, enhance volunteer participation, and develop projects that address both spiritual and social needs. Additionally, the leadership intends to invest in digital platforms to reach a broader audience and ensure the sustainability of its mission in the coming years.
