## **DERSINGHAM SPORTS GROUND ASSOCIATION AGM 24[th] June 2026 ANNUAL REPORT** This is the second report of the Chair of the DSGA since the Charity was formed in October 2023. The DSGA was created as a successor to the former CIC in order to establish a charitable structure to enable fundraising for a new pavilion and to form a new body of Trustees to manage and oversee the total operation of the Sports Ground, its constituent sports clubs, facilities and amenities. Over the past 12 months, most of our focus has been on creating and implementing plans for a new, modern, state-ofthe-art Sports Pavilion on the current footprint of the old pavilion., using the existing building shell. Major highlights include: - Advancing the Pavilion Project to the current advanced stage with environmental status completed, building costs received, and lead builder/contractor selected, lease approval and Land Registration received. - A major fund raising initiative implemented with grant applications made to a dozen or more Charitable Trusts with the Parish Council taking the lead. Detailed discussions undertaken with the Football Federation and Norfolk FA proved unhelpful; we therefore pulled out of negotiations with them. Instead we re-submitted a detailed grant application to the local Borough Council CIL fund and we and the Parish Council were delighted to receive approval of a £100,000 grant this month (June 2026). - Increased car parking space to accommodate up to 60 vehicles with new signage designed to direct visitors to the new car park. - Financing for the Association and the project is on a solid footing, with reserves of £40k accrued from local community fundraising, club fees and other grants. In addition we were delighted to accept the offer to partner with Dersingham Parish Council in the project, which generously pledged a grant of £50k. Looking forward we are highly positive about the prospect of obtaining further funds for the pavilion refurbishment, and thus providing a better, more secure, viable sports facility for the whole community and beyond. We are well aware of our responsibilities to the sports clubs and their members, visitors and, importantly, our neighbours and stakeholders. We are hoping to break ground this coming autumn/winter, using the services of Suiter Construction Ltd. The sports clubs go from strength to strength and their reports are attached. It is worth reiterating that this Sports Ground supports three very strong clubs with Dersingham Rovers Football about to field 15 teams, making it one of the largest clubs in West Norfolk. Proof that this Sports Ground can host major tournaments was evidenced again in May 2026 with a weekend of junior football events involving 34 teams from across the country. The event was organized by SCI sports competitions and DSGA provided food and refreshments with support from the Coach & Horses pub. Finally I would like to thank all our Trustees, supporters, volunteers and other stakeholders who have helped us achieve our goals for this year. Also thanks go to our Landlord, the Parish Council, for their financial and other support in particular the Chair of the PC. We have a skilled and experienced group of 7 trustees, but we are always on the lookout for new blood to add to the team.
