Introductlon The Trustees of Kop Hill Charity are pleased to Ixe88nt their first Annual Report and Finan¢ial Statements for the period ending 31 March 2025. The Charlty was registered with the Charily Commisslon on October 2023 and th18 report covers the Period from that date to 31 March 2025. No activities took place in the period from giStration to 8, February 2024. On 81h February 2024 the Charity aquired the entire issued share capital of Kop Hill Climb Limited, a 1Smked company registered in England. Kop Hill Climb Limited runs an annual event In Sepl8mb8r each year. the surplus funds from which are donated lo local Gharit188 through ils parent ¢harity. The parent charity was previously Buckinghamshire Communily Foundation. Publle Beneflt The Trustees have pald due regard to the Charity Comm138ion guidanc8 on public benefit and bellev8 that by grant lunding the work of other local charities, they are providing a benefrt to the publi¢, Actlvltl Kop Hlll Charlty raises funds each year vith the objective of maklng grant8 to voluntary and communlty groups which are charltable in purpose and which are carrying out activiti&s or projects that will b8néfll resid8nts living within the Princes Risborough and 8Uffounding l¢)Gality. The Charity particularly prioritises.. Projecls which are aimed at addressing social isolation or deprivation. Projects whlch support Ihose with long-lerm or life-limiting diseases or condltlons. Projects which are new or exisling projects looking lo expand their reach. Structure, Govemanco and Managwn•nt The charity 18 a Charitable Incorporated (kganisatlon CIO. with Twstees appointed by trustees, and its governance is set out in it8 conslilution. Trustees meet at least three times per year with the prinaple objectives of: Reviewing th6 management and activities of its subsidiary company particulady in relation to matters of compliance and Health & Safety Agreeing the rJiteria for awarding its annual grants and subsequently approving the amount to be granted Signing off the Trustee Annual report and finanual statements. Kop Hlll Charity Trustses Report Period endèd 31 March 2025 Th8 management of the subsidiary company is delegated to its Board of Directors and the operating team members who manage various portfolios of activily, and the other volunteers who 8UPPOrt the event. Voluntsers The Truslees, Directors, Portfolio holders and all parties who contribute to the event are volunteers. The charity has no paid staff. The Kop Hill Climb event involves up to 200 volunteers over one weekend and the Trustees are immensely 9raleful for the work of these volunteers most of whom come from the local community. Achlevemont and Performan¢e Kop Hill Climb Limited has njn the Kop Hill Climb event since 2015. Surpluses are gifted to its Charity owner for distribution to local causes. The Kop Hill Climb event in 2024 was the company's b88t year ever and a total of £125,000 was donated to local charitles. A further £7,500 was pald to local charities lo recognis8 support for Ihe event in providin9 volunteers. Grants The Charity malntalns a strong relationship with Buckingham8hir• Communty Foundation, the previou8 owner of Kop Hill Climb Ltd. and utilise8 the expertise of Buckingham8hire Community Foundation to evaluale grant appli110nS. perfomi due diligence checks on their activities and a180 sub88quently monitors th8 use of funds. A grant approval panel. consisting of Truste&$ and invited experts from Buckinghamshire Community Foundation r6vi&w applications lo detemiine their merit in relation to the criteria prevlously published. Flnanclal Revlew The trading performance of the subsldiary company was very strong, enabling the allocation of £125,000 in grants. Th8 consolidated balance sheet at the year-end shows nel assets of £53,211. The Trustees consider bolh enlilies are financially sound and able lo continue to operate as going concems for the foreseeable future. The Charity does nol hav8 any invèstmerts, although it does place surplus funds on deposit wllh Its bank when Ihe opportunity exists. Reserves Reserves at £53,211 are higher than planned and the policy of the Trustees is to relain approximately £45.000 lo ensure finance for the following year. Any surplus above this amount is transferred under Gift from Kop Hill Climb Limited to Kop Hill Charity and Ihen used for grant awards. Page.. 3
