Period ended 31st March 2025

The Trustees present their report and accounts.

Structure, Governance and Management

The charity was established by a trust deed and was registered with the Charity Commission on 6th October 2023.

The constitution is one of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

The original trustees are named on page 1. Additional or replacement trustees will be appointed by existing trustees, only if they have relevant experience or skills to enable them to make a contribution to the administration of the charity.

Objectives and Activities

The Charity's objects are:

To relieve sickness and to preserve the health of the patients receiving treatment at The Princess of Wales Hospital, Ely, and the residents of Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas, by providing or assisting in the provision of equipment, facilities and services in addition to that provided locally by the statutory authorities.

The activities in this first period of the charity's existence have been mainly in setting up its organisation - opening a bank account, applying to make gift aid claims, opening a Just Giving account, design of a website, and also discussions and meetings with representatives of The Princess of Wales Hospital.

The trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, and they consider that the charity will fulfill its obligations in this respect by achieving the above objectives.

Review of Financial Position

The charity received donations, a legacy, proceeds of a gift aid claim and interest in the period totalling £7,276. Expenses were £3,870 resulting in a net surplus of £3,406 which was the bank balance at 31st March 2025.

The charity’s income is below the threshold requiring the accounts to be independently examined. The trustees have accordingly decided to dispense with this.

Reserves Policy

The trustees have not formally adopted a reserves policy.
