Structure, Governance and Management Gainsborough Men's Shed CIO is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The charity is governed by its Constitution, adopted upon registration. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Constitution and are responsible for strategic direction, financial oversight and safe operation. Trustees meet regularly throughout the year to review activities, finances, risks and future plans.

While the charty does not have a large formal volunteer team, many members contribute infomially by supporting supervision. activities, maintenan, administration and community projects. Their contribution is essential to the Shed's operation and impact. 4. Who We Support The Shed supports adults in Gainsborough and the surrounding area who may be experiencing-. Loneliness or social isolation Long-term health conditions Bereavement or major life changes Financial hardship Mental health challenges Reduced confidence or motivation Limited opportunities for social connection or purposeful activity We welcome both men and women and work closely with local health and community organisations to ensure people who need support can access it. 5. Need in Gainsborough Gainsborough experiences higher levels of deprivation compared with national averages, and loneliness, poor mental health and social isolation are significant local issues. The Shed is now well known among local GPS, social prescribers and mental health teams, who refer individuals to us for community-based wellbeing support. 6. Objectives and Activities Charitable Purpose The charity exists to.. Promote social inclusion for adults who may be at risk of isolation. Provide facilities for recreation and leisure for individuals who need such opportunities because of age, infirmity, disability, financial hardship or social circumstances. Improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and enhan quality of life for local residents. Activities Delivered for Public Benefit Throughout the year, the Shed provided a safe, friendly and inclusive space where adults could meet, make, mend, learn and support one another. GAINS80ROUGH MEM'S StrIED offered opportunities for woodworking, crafting, repairing, gardening, creative projects and informal social connection. Members also contributed to community projects including: Renovating pedal cars for the Rotary Club's Pedal Car Grand Prix (GO Arts and Culture Festival). Musical perf0mlanS by the Shed band, The Shedders, at the Multicultural Vibe Festival and Morton Art4Life Fair. Refurbishing outdoor garden furniture for Scotter Ward at John Coupland Hospital. Supporting Chop Chat and Change by preparing fresh meals for the community. Repairing donated bicycles and redistributing some to individuals in need. Creating costume accessories for the Illuminate Festival parade. New wellbeing activities were introduced, including seated chair exercise and tai chi sessions. Monthly "Shed Shindigs" strengthened social connection and provided a platform for community groups and councillors to share infomiation. A wide range of craft activities were offered, including crochet. knitting, needle felting, card making, jewellery making, decoupage, topiary, leather crafting, stitching and sewing. All activities were delivered within a nominal £20 annual membership subscription, ensuring affordability and a¢Ssibl11ty. The trustees confirm that they have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when planning and delivering the charity's activities. 7. Achievements and Performance Growth in Membership and Participation Over 100 members supported during the year. 55 % increase in attendan$ compared with the previous year. 490/0 increase in individual beneficiaries. Sessions open five days a week, providing reliable opportuntties for connection. 132 new members joined - 69 men and 63 women. Accessible, Affordable and Inclusive Provision Membership maintained at £20 per year. Activities offered to suit different interests and abilities. Introduction of new wellbeing activities (chair exercise and tai chi). Fully inclusive provision for both men and women

Crafting {crochet, knitting, needle felting, card making, jewellery making. decoupage, topiary, leatherwork, stitching and sewing). Woodworking, bike repair and maintenance. First aid, defibrillator use, mental health first aid, fire marshal responsibilities and food hygiene. Monitoring, Evaluation and Risk Management The trustees monitor attendan, member feedback, referrals, project outcomes and member involvement to ensure activities continue to meet local needs. This helps guide planning, identify emerging needs and demonstrate impact to funders and partners. Operational, financial, safeguarding and health and safety risks are reviewed regularly. Appropriate policies, insurance and procedures are in pla to ensure safe delivery of activities. The trustees confirm that no serious incidents occurred during the year requiring reporting to the Charity Commission. 9. Value for Money With a £20 annual membership fee, strong member involvement and donated materials, the Shed delivers high social impact at very low cost. This makes it an efficient and sustainable model for improving wellbeing and reducing isolation in the community. 10. Financial Review The charity began the year wtth an opening bank balano of £4,013. Total income: £35,466 {including £9,032 transferred from the predecessor community account as part of the transition to CIO status) Totsl expenditure: £28,205 {covering essential running costs, activity materials and investment in new equipment, including a Cricut machine and a laser printer) Balance carried forward: £11,274 (of which £3,000 is designated for the Allotment Project) Reserves Policy The trustees aim to build unrestricted reserves equivalent to 3-12 months of basic running costs. As a relatively new CIO, reserves remain modest but are increasing steadily.
