During the year. Greener Gainsborough CIO adively pursued its charitable objects by delivering a range of activities aimed at enhancing community wellbeing and improving green spaces in Gainsborough and surrounding areas. The charity's principal activity was the eslablishment and support of Gainsborough Men's Shed, a comrnunity initiative providing facilities for recreation, skill-building, and social connection. This project supports individuals facing challenges such as age, disability, financial hardship. or social isolation, offering meaningful opportunities to improve their qualty of life. Gainsborough Men's Shed has been pivotal in fostering community well-being through ils diverse activities and growing membership. In addition to this flagship initiative, the charity undertook various initiatives to promote environmental improvement and community engagement, including". Library Garden Enhancement: Transfomed the front entrance of Gainsborough Library by creating a garden and planting over 800 bulbs. This visually appealing Space, officially unveiled by local Council leaders, was a collaborative effort spearheaded by Greener Gainsborough CIO with support from Hastings Day Centre volunteers, a facility for adults with learning andlor physical disabilities. Ashcroft Green: Supported volunteers in transforming a deprived area into an accessible community space by planling and supplying 400 daffodil bulbs to enrich its beauty and utility for residents. Biodiversity Promotion: Planted wildflower seeds at Morton Comer as part of the Gainsborough in Bloom initiative, enhancing natural habitats and environmenlal enrichment. Scouts Hill Tree Planting Day: Participated in a community tree planting event at Scouts Hill, helping to create a greener and more sustainable environment for Ihe local wmmunity.
