# **South Hill Parish Hall CIO Annual Report** 

## **01 May 2024 to 30 April 2025**

Following formation of the CIO on 2nd October 2023, the CIO trustees original target was for transition of operations and assets from the existing charity (South Hill Village Hall, number 308270) on 1st May 2024.  Formal application to the Charity Commission was made on the 8th January 2024 however owing to a backlog in casework a response was not received until 6[th] June 2024.  This resulted in the need for further clarifications before the Charity Commission gave agreement on 20[th] August 2024 with advice on the necessary actions to proceed.  At a meeting of the South Hill Village Hall and South Hill Parish Hall CIO trustees on 9[th] September 2024 all the transfer resolutions were passed and a Pre-Merger Vesting Declaration was signed by all the trustees.  The target date for transfer of operations was revised to 01[st] January 2025. 

Subsequently progress was further delayed as the solicitor acting on behalf of the CIO required further clarifications from the Charity Commission and also the solicitor moved to a different legal practice (though agreed to complete the case).  Consequently at the trustee meeting held on 13[th] January 2025 it was agreed to postpone the transfer date to 1[st] May 2025. 

Other than the preparation work mentioned above, the CIO was inactive in 2024-2025 and consequently there was no associated income or expenditure.
