| Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) |
The charity's objectives are to promote the Shia Islamic faith, with a particular emphasis on the teachings and legacy of Imam Ali. This is achieved through the online publication of religious teachings, religious processions, and community outreach efforts. All activities and use of the charity's assets must align with charitable purposes as defined by Section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and Section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. |
|---|---|
| Main Activities Over the past year, our charity has undertaken a variety of impactful initiatives to support our community and promote the Shia Islamic faith. We organised major events in London, including processions at significant locations such as Westminster Bridge and Marble Arch, and collaborated with events hosted by the Hyderi Centre and Arbaeen UK, where we provided meals to attendees and offered spiritual enrichment. Our Al-Ajal Orphans Appeal brought gifts and clothing to orphans in Karbala, while during Muharram, our team distributed meals to pilgrims in Iraq. We also produced educational content at holy pilgrimage sites, showcasing the significance of these revered places during the sacred months of Muharram and Safar. To further spread the message of Imam Ali and the principles of Shia Islam, we created educational content across our social media platforms, reaching a wider audience and enhancing the community’s understanding of our faith. Our trustees have ensured that all activities align with the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit, with each project designed to serve the community and advance our charity’s objectives in an accessible and charitable way. |

In our inaugural year, the charity has made notable progress towards its mission, achieving several significant milestones: • Raised £24,115 in donations, greatly supporting our objective of promoting the Shia Islamic faith and the teachings of Imam Ali. • Organised multiple impactful events in London: • In February, we held a procession on Westminster Bridge commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Musa. • In March, we held a procession at Marble Arch to honour Imam Ali. • Our team also participated in events at the Hyderi Centre (04/08/2024) and Arbaeen UK (01/09/2024), which offered educational and spiritual enrichment to the community. Across these four events, we provided meals to over 2,000 attendees. • Successfully launched the Al-Ajal Orphans Appeal, through which we provided gifts and clothing to over 50 orphans in Karbala. • During the month of Muharram, our team was on the ground in Iraq, distributing meals to approximately 30,000 pilgrims over five days. • Created educational content while visiting holy sites during the sacred months of Muharram and Safar, showcasing the importance of these months and the revered locations. These achievements reflect the strong foundation of our charity and our dedication to public benefit, with funds carefully directed towards projects that further our mission and actively engage the community. |
