Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

During the 2024-2025 period, CHAMP1 UK has made significant progress in supporting families, increasing global awareness of CHAMP1, and driving forward collaborative research efforts.

- **Support & Community:** The charity successfully welcomed several newly diagnosed families into the community, providing them with crucial support and guidance during a life-changing time. We arranged various family meet-ups to foster connection and shared experiences. A standout achievement this year was our pivotal role in helping to organise the global CHAMP1 conference, uniting experts, researchers, and families in partnership with US and EU CHAMP1 organisations.

- **Awareness & Advocacy:** CHAMP1 UK orchestrated a highly impactful CHAMP1 Awareness Day on March 20th. This campaign successfully secured widespread coverage across radio broadcasts, online platforms, and newspapers, significantly amplifying public knowledge of the condition and providing a platform for families to share their stories.

- **Research & Medical Engagement:** The charity actively helped gather vital information to progress scientific research into CHAMP1. By collaborating with our families, dedicated researchers, and international CHAMP1 non-profits, we ensured that the patient voice remains central to advancing potential treatments and expanding clinical knowledge.

- **Fundraising & Financial Growth:** We continued our core fundraising efforts throughout the year to support our services and awareness programmes. A key focus has been actively assisting and empowering members of our community who generously chose to organise independent fundraising events on our behalf.
