Structure, Governance and Management
The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a Foundation Constitution. The trustees are responsible for the overall management and administration of the charity.
Trustees are appointed in accordance with the governing document and relevant Charity Commission guidance. The charity maintains appropriate policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, financial controls, confidentiality, complaints handling, anti-fraud, anti-money laundering and safer recruitment.
- Objectives and Activities
The charity’s objects are to relieve poverty and support individuals suffering from ill health in the Azad Kashmir region of Pakistan.
The charity seeks to achieve these aims through:

Providing emergency and disaster relief during floods, earthquakes, landslides, severe weather conditions and other humanitarian situations

Distribution of food rations and essential supplies to families experiencing hardship

Supporting access to cataract treatment and other healthcare services for those unable to afford medical care
In planning activities, the trustees have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
4. Achievements and Performance
During the financial year the charity received donations totalling £38,020.
The funds raised were applied towards charitable activities and relief work in accordance with the charity’s objectives. Assistance was provided to vulnerable individuals and families within communities in Azad Kashmir through financial support, welfare assistance and healthcare-related projects.
The trustees are satisfied that the activities carried out during the year furthered the charity’s purposes for the public benefit.
5. Financial Review
Total income for the year amounted to £38,020, consisting entirely of voluntary donations.
Total expenditure during the year was £43,811. Expenditure related directly to charitable activities and support provided in furtherance of the charity’s objectives.
The charity recorded a net deficit of £5,791 for the year ended 1 April 2025.
The trustees continue to monitor the charity’s financial position carefully and aim to maintain sufficient funding to support ongoing charitable activities.
- Plans for Future Periods
The charity intends to continue developing and expanding its activities in support of communities in need within Azad Kashmir.
Future plans include:

Continuing emergency relief and welfare support programmes

Expanding food distribution projects for families experiencing poverty

Supporting further medical treatment initiatives, including cataract procedures

Building partnerships and strengthening fundraising activity to support long-term charitable work
The trustees remain committed to ensuring that funds are applied effectively and in line with the charity’s objectives.
7. Public Benefit Statement
The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duties under section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance.
The charity’s activities provide public benefit through the relief of poverty, advancement of health and support for vulnerable individuals and communities.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records and for safeguarding the assets of the charity. They are also responsible for taking reasonable steps to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees confirm that the accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and applicable Charity Commission requirements.
