## **Trustees Annual Report**

## **for the financial year ended 31[st] March 2025**

The trustees present their Trustees' Annual Report and the unaudited financial statements for the financial year ended 31[st] March 2025

The charity is a registered charity and hence the report and results are presented in a form which complies with the requirements Charities Act 2011.

## **Objectives**

To advance and enrich, for the public benefit, education about the Holocaust and Nazi persecution of Jews and other groups in the periods before, during and after the Nazi party came to power, including learning lessons from the life stories and experiences of victims of such persecution

## **Review of Activities, Achievements and Performance**

The main activities undertaken in relation to the purposes of the charity during the year were:

## **Educational activities:**

Northern Holocaust Education Group [NHEG] has had an exciting and exceptionally successful year. NHEG is a newly formed Group and a registered charity [September 2023]. As well as speaking in-person to thousands of young and adult audiences in the UK, NHEG was hosted by the UK Trustees of a charity operating in Gaza to broaden their knowledge. This was done under strict secrecy conditions due to the repercussions feared on their staff on the ground in Gaza

NHEG was founded because the first generation of Holocaust survivors will not be able to continue their wonderful work in person for ever. NHEG, whilst continuing to use first generation speakers, is managing the essential task of transitioning to second and subsequent generations. This is to ensure that future generations will continue to experience the life stories of victims of the Holocaust and Nazi persecution in a way that is meaningful and relevant. We help the families of the victims of the Holocaust/Nazi persecution document their family stories and experiences so that they are neither forgotten nor denied.

In the short time NHEG has been in existence our first-generation speakers and our accredited speakers have already been hosted over 360 times as keynote speakers, addressing audiences - young and adult - of over 31,000. Just over the 2025 Holocaust Memorial Day period NHEG was hosted over 70 times with audiences of nearly 8,000, a 24% year on year increase.

NHEG has already been hosted, as keynote speakers, by a wide variety of organisations such as:

- Government Departments (incl. Local Authorities, Inland Revenue)

- Libraries, Police, Fire Services, Prisons, Museums

- Schools, Academies, Colleges, Universities

- Sports and Football Clubs

- Community, Religious and Interfaith organisations

- Major professional organisations (such as Accountants and Solicitors) and Trades Unions

- Public and Private Organisations

We reach out to audiences both young and adult . NHEG makes no charge for its work and the enrichment sessions we run. NHEG consistently receives five-star qualitative feedback from host organisations revealing outcomes of greater awareness of the Holocaust, Holocaust distortion and antisemitism – and delivering the message to stand up against hatred, discrimination and persecution of any kind.
