The aims and objectives of the charity are to deliver services to women and children in the Dover District wo have experienced adversity and trauma, which continues to impact on their day to day lives and relationships. The intention of the charity is to deliver a therapeutic service and interventions to inform and develop resilience, empowering women and their children to make choices that will have improved outcomes:

Our constitution states that our organisational aims and objectives are to: preserve and protect the health and to relieve the mental sickness of women and children residing permanently or temporarily in Dover, Kent and such other parts of the United Kingdom by the provision of therapeutic services and such other financial or practical support as required and decided by the Charity Trustees.

The charity is a Christian organisation, and we consider a holistic approach in the service(s) delivered to promote growth in mind, body and spirit. Whilst women and children are not obligated to acknowledge the Christian element of the service, our aim is to advance the Christian faith, in particular but without limitation, by providing pastoral support to vulnerable groups and communities so that the love of Christ is shared by word and practical means.

Currently, Elyon Therapeutic Family Services CIO consists of the founding member and a team of 3 trustees, with the flexible access to advice and guidance from 1-2 Therapists.

New trustee appointments are managed as per the constitution stipulations:

“Apart from the first Charity Trustees, unless the Charity Trustees decide otherwise every Charity Trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the Charity Trustees.

In selecting individuals for appointment as Charity Trustees, the Charity Trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

All Charity Trustees must subscribe and adhere to, in belief and lifestyle, the Statement of Faith.”
