Smiles Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution. 

Trustees are appointed in accordance with the charity’s governing document. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The objects of the charity are: 



For the public benefit, the preservation and protection of good health, particularly, but not exclusively, in Sri Lanka and India by: 

- Providing medical camps in rural villages; 

- Providing education on preventative healthcare, oral healthcare, mental healthcare and sexual education; and 

- Facilitating exchange programmes between medical students in UK universities and universities abroad in order to provide different levels of expertise and assist in the preservation and protection of the public. 

## **Activities and Achievements** 

The charity was dormant during the financial year. 

No activities were undertaken in furtherance of its charitable objectives. 

The trustees intend to commence charitable activities in future periods. 

## **Public Benefit Statement** 

The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. 

Although no activities were undertaken during the year, the trustees remain committed to furthering the charity’s objectives for the public benefit. 

## **Financial Review** 

The charity received no income and incurred no expenditure during the year. 

At the year end, the charity held no assets and had no liabilities.
