## **2. Objectives and Activities** 

## **Charitable purposes:** 

The charity exists to promote the education of Muslim students and researchers in the UK, supporting academic research, providing grants and mentorship, and developing collaborative networks of Muslim and allied scholars. 

## **Main activities during the year:** 

During the year to 05 April 2025 the charity carried out the following activities to further its objectives: 

- **Annual Conference:** Held the 2025 Muslim Researchers’ Network Conference on 04 January 2025 at the University of Oxford’s Mathematical Institute — a flagship gathering with research talks, poster sessions, keynote lectures, and panel discussions aimed at connecting research with broader societal questions. 

- **Research Communities:** Continued development of thematic research communities across disciplines to foster peer support, discussion, and scholarly collaboration. 



- **Mentorship Scheme:** Continued matching early‑stage researchers with experienced academic mentors to support career and research development, providing tailored guidance and support. 

- **Webinars and Online Content:** Delivered educational webinars and online content aimed at research skill building and academic discussion. 

The trustees confirm they have referred to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance when planning the charity’s activities. 

## **3. Achievements and Performance** 

The trustees consider that the activities above contributed positively toward achieving the charity’s objectives. Key achievements during the year include: 

- **Successful Annual Conference:** Delivery of the 2025 annual research conference, providing a national platform for Muslim researchers to present work, build networks, and engage academically. 

- **Growing Research Networks:** Growth in participation within the charity’s research communities, encouraging greater interdisciplinary engagement and collaboration among scholars. 

- **Mentorship Development:** Matching mentees with mentors across a range of academic subjects, helping young researchers advance in their careers. 

- **Educational Outreach:** Hosting webinars on research topics and supporting the development of online resources beneficial to the network’s members. 

These activities have strengthened the charity’s impact within the UK Muslim academic and student communities.

At the end of the financial year the charity’s total funds stood at £1950. 

## **5. Plans for Future Periods** 

In the forthcoming year the charity plans to: 



- Continue to grow the annual conference with increased participation and wider academic reach. 

- Expand, and deepen engagement with, research communities across disciplines. 

- Offer additional educational webinars, workshops, and scholarly events. 

- Develop scholarship opportunities and resources to support early‑career researchers.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. 

The trustees confirm that the accounts have been prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards and the charity’s governing document.
