Thurrock Street Pastors is the local expression of the National Charity set up by the Ascension Trust

The provision of public pastoral care services to help people on the streets and in other public places. Enlightening others about Christianity through raising awareness and understanding.

meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society
The main aims for this year has been to see patrols on the streets 1, Number of volunteers available to patrol. 21 2. Number of patrols. Patrols started on the 4[th] of April and there have been 22 patrols. Most patrols had 4 people. 1 had 2 people 4 had 3 and 2 had 5. 3. Number of hours Total volunteer hours on patrol are 249 hours **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

Thurrock Street Pastors trustees adopted the policies provided by Ascension Trust after review and amendment in regard to new government guidelines on data protection and safeguarding. Changes were notified to Ascension Trust.

**during the year**|The founding supporting organisations were
Grays Baptist,
Grays Team Ministry,
Church of His Presence,
Christ City Church and
Wellcome Church.
This fulfilled the Ascension Trust requirement of at least four Christian
denominations: Baptist, Anglican, Congregationalist and two
Independent.
Highlights
“Hey Pastor come and talk to my mate he needs
Jesus”.
Praying peace for people and seeing their
demeanour changing.
People chasing after us to say how they feel
peaceful mow.
“People have noticed our presence and they’re
willing to speak to us”.
“Our presence in the community since we started
is highly noticed”.
People stopping us to ask what is a Street Pastor.
Two Street pastors who had moved into the area
seeing us on patrol and wanting to join Thurrock
Street Pastors.
“I’ve really appreciated getting to know folk from
other churches while we’ve been out on patrol and
we’ve had some good conversations.”
People negotiating their shift pattern so they are
free on Friday evenings.
Linking up with the local police.
Linking up with homelessness workers .
Up skilling people on what was on offer in Grays
for the homeless.||
