## **Purposes of the Charity** 

The purpose of the of the CIO is the advancement of the Christian faith in the Carnmarth South Deanery of the Anglican Diocese of Truro.

## **Annual Report** 

2024 was the first year of operation for the CIO, and the organisation did not become fully operation until 1[st] September 2024. 

On 1[st] September 2024, the TUPE process between the Diocese of Truro and the CIO was complete, and the CIO became responsible for two employees: 

- Deanery Missioner 

- Children and Schools Worker 

## **Funding** 

The CIO’s income for this first year was derived two sources: 

- The transfer of existing funds held by Carnmarth South Deanery 

- Funds granted to the CIO from the Lowest Income Communities Fund; this fund is administered by the Church Commissioners and distributed by Dioceses. 

## **Activity** 

Both the Deanery Missioner and the Children and Schools Worker continued the work they had each started when employed through Transforming Mission (Falmouth). 

The Missioner had established several ‘contact points’ with the people of Falmouth; these mostly operated out of _Fairwinds_ in Church Street, Falmouth.  These have included: 

- _Chillioi_ – Vulnerable adults, LGBTQ awareness and inclusivity 

- _The Sanctuary_ – help for those escaping domestic violence 

- _Fairwinds Students_ – mental health and debt advice; monthly Holy Communion 

- _Salvation Army Drop-in_ – partnering with Falmouth Salvation Army to offer support to street homeless and multi-agency community 

- _Corker Memorial_ – working King Charles the Martyr church (Falmouth) and Truro Diocese to form a way forward for education and human trafficking 

- _Sparrows project_ – now a charity in Cornwall that helps those who have been trafficked or are escaping modern slavery 

The Children and Schools Worker had already established contacts with Primary Schools in Falmouth, and she set about making contact with the other Primary Schools in the Deanery. Most schools were very appreciative of the assistance offered with regard to the delivery of the RE curriculum, and age-appropriate seasonal workshops were run in different locations – some in schools and some in churches.
