Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## **Annual Report** Our first full year of operating as a registered charity Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## Chair of Trustee’s Report As we reflect on the past year, I am immensely proud of all that the Weave Foundation has achieved in our first 12 months as a registered charity. It has been a year of growth, connection, and impact—one in which we have seen God weaving His love through every step of our journey. A significant milestone was the long-awaited arrival of our container in Zambia, enabling us to distribute much-needed wheelchairs, football kits, clothing, and other essential items to the communities we support. This practical expression of love and generosity has made a tangible difference in many lives. We were also privileged to send three trustees to Zambia, where they strengthened relationships with our project partners, delivered valuable training, and shared the vision for Weave Foundation’s future. These face-to-face connections continue to be a vital part of our mission, ensuring that our support remains personal, meaningful, and effective. This year also brought the joy of new and renewed partnerships. We reconnected with our long-time friends Tim and Gemma Mills and were delighted to welcome the Beulah Discipleship Training Centre as part of the Weave family. Additionally, we embraced a new partnership with Pastor Min Raj and the Christian Network Nepal, expanding our reach and deepening our commitment to serving communities in both Zambia and Nepal. Through every challenge and triumph, one truth remains constant: God is faithfully at work, weaving His love into every story, every partnership, and every life touched through this ministry. The advancement of education of orphans and other vulnerable children in any part of the world, particularly, but not exclusively in Zambia, by the provision of funding for qualified teachers, buildings and essential equipment. The advancement of the Christian religion by working with and strengthening the work of Christian churches and Christian organisations in any part of the world, in providing grassroots services to communities affected by poverty and to join in evangelism, church-planting, prayer, the discipling of Christians and the training of leaders. Relief of poverty Advancement of education Advancement of the Christian Faith Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## Our Impact 2 19 Countries Project Partners ## Zambia This year marked a significant milestone as our long-awaited container finally arrived in Zambia and cleared customs. This enabled us to distribute essential supplies, including two specialised wheelchairs to the Foster Katubiya Foundation and school bags—generously donated by Costco—to Comfort Heaven, Nsobe School, and Victory in Jesus Christ Global Church. In July, a team of five from the Weave Foundation travelled to Zambia, where they had the privilege of meeting, encouraging, and praying with all of our Zambian project partners. During their visit, they provided further practical donations, including underwear, football kits, clothing, school resources, and Bibles. A key focus of the trip was delivering training in safeguarding, equipping projects to develop their own safeguarding policies and implement effective procedures. Additionally, financial training was provided to bring all partners up to a shared standard of basic bookkeeping, ensuring greater accountability and sustainability. Beyond training and practical support, the team embraced opportunities for preaching and teaching in various settings. One of the highlights of the visit was engaging with our newest project partner, Beulah Training Centre, as well as supporting the annual Madalitso Wits Leigh Cup football tournament—an event that brings young people together through sport, mentorship, and faith. Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 This year, we were able to provide targeted financial support to several key projects, helping to meet both immediate needs and long-term development goals: - Pastor Baldwin Zulu – Funding for toilet construction and a church roof. Mkumba School – Providing 1,000 meals per month, Christmas meals, and classroom benches. Nsobe School – Funding the salary for a head teacher. Beulah Training Centre – A bursary for an 18-year-old student who could not afford her YWAM discipleship training. Foster Katubiya Foundation – Musical instruments for children with additional needs, along with a sewing machine and fabric. This was funded through the sale of Zambianmade items in the UK. Madalitso Wits – Football kits, school fees, and Christmas meals. - Destiny for Zambian Youth – Football kits and Christmas meals. Superade Academy – Football kits. Oasis Children’s Village – Football kits. While not an official project partner, Oasis remains a long-term, trusted contact of the trustees. ## Weaving Success A particularly exciting development this year has been the connection between Superade Academy and Beulah Training Centre. Discipleship students from Beulah have been actively sharing their faith with the young footballers at Superade Academy, creating a beautiful example of partnership, mentorship, and the gospel in action. I really and humbly express how much I love you and how greatful I am for the things you have done._ Name Withheld 06 Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## Nepal This year, we were delighted to welcome Pastor Min Raj and the Christian Network Nepal into the Weave Foundation family. Their dedication to church planting and community transformation aligns closely with our mission, and we are honoured to support their work. In addition to funding their church planting programme, we were able to respond to urgent needs following the devastating floods in late 2024. A special donation was sent to assist the orphanage, school, and villagers in Gotikhel, providing much-needed relief during a time of crisis. We were also grateful that a friend of the Weave Foundation, Kevin Whitby, was able to visit Nepal in November. Witnessing the devastation firsthand, he spent time in the village, praying with and encouraging the local people, and assessing the ongoing needs within the community. His visit reinforced the importance of standing alongside our partners, not only through financial support but also through presence, prayer, and solidarity. Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## Challenges As with any growing charity, this past year has presented challenges that have required wisdom, adaptability, and faith. One of the most pressing has been the high cost of international bank transfers, which has significantly impacted the funds we are able to send directly to our projects. We continue to explore more cost-effective ways to transfer money, ensuring that as much funding as possible reaches the communities we serve. Our trustee team has also seen changes, with Matt Wightman stepping down and Rebecca Smith joining us in January 2024. Additionally, Leon Mileham has decided not to stand for re-election. As a small team, we recognize the need to strengthen our board with additional trustees who bring vision, skills, and passion for our mission. Financially, we have ambitious goals for the future, but to achieve them, we need substantial growth in our funding. In a challenging economic climate, expanding our audience and supporter base is more critical than ever. 10 Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## Fundraising Highlights In July we hosted our Triple 5 event. A 5k run, followed by 5k paddle boarding, followed by a 5k walk stretched all of our volunteers. It was a fun event and raised £260 Donna Smith ran the Manchester half marathon in October and raised £115. Our Christmas card campaign raised £125 this year. In addition, we have bought products made by Foster Katubiya Foundation in Zambia, sold them in the UK and sent the profits straight back to that project partner. 09 Weave Foundation Annual Report 2024 ## Thank You As we step into the future, we are filled with faith and expectation for what God will do through the Weave Foundation.
