As a Charity, we provide buildings and facilities to ensure a continued meeting place for the community.
Our users include Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, Squirrels, Karate, Exercise classes, Companionship clubs, art and craft, quilting, dog training, gardening, music, church events including wakes and christening parties, plus many events by other local fundraisers and charities.
Due to the age and poor structural quality of the Parish Hall over the last few years, the community and Trustees decided that to rebuild our hall was the only way forward. So, with this in mind we have, for the last few years, been striving to raise sufficient funds to demolish and rebuild the hall to ensure continuation of use for this well used community building.
The Parish Hall was closed at the end of November 2023 due to its condition and the escalating costs to continue to heat this 100 year old building.
During the course of raising the funds for this project, it was agreed to re-register the charity as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Registration date being 23[rd] August 2023. Transfer to full CIO status was achieved in February 2024, meaning that although all aspects of the charity remained as they were, we will now have a new charity registration and number, and a new Constitution. The charity is now managed by our Trustees.
It has been an exceptionally busy time for the charity but our new purpose build hall is in sight.
