and submittinE p￿nsfOr solar panels IphotovohaK ￿Tre1$1 to be fitted to two south-facinE roofs of the cthdral. The cholr
contlnued to grow and go from strength to st￿n81h, with exceptional numbers of ¢horiaers130 boys and over 30 glrls. aswell
as 12 choral xholars and two or8an scholars). The cholr's tour of Bavarla In July 2024 was a veritable trlurnph and much enloyed
by choir, music staff and supporters alike. The Chapterfs finance5 also held firm at a time when de£re3￿n8 consumer conAdence
and the yospectof Intyeased costs forempioyer5 were Impartlng ne8atlvely on the health of the economy. The small
unrestrlcted deficlt In Chapterf5 accounts for 2024 represents3 $58nlflcant achlevement.
The year was not totslly free of challenge. thapterfs majordevelopment projec¢ Ripon Cathedral Renewed, thou8h supported
by key regulators, wasthe sublert of some local opposltion. Much of 2024 was spent holdlng an addltlonal publlc consultation
nd revi5in8the plan5 to enable a newly-desl8nated veteran beech tree to be retalned.

potentially. a sl8nlft£ant setback for both thecathedral and the city. The projett would have delivered essential lacilities which
are clearly needed bythe cathedral Itoilets, refectory, storage, shop, song school, meeting spa£el, facilttie5 which areiaken for
granted at most other Eng115h cathedrals. It would also have provlded a rnuch-needed economic lift to Ripon. The projectalso
would enable important enhancernent and conservation proj￿t5 within the cathedral building and would have helped to

veryfalthful staff. L￿n and Rob Emmett (shop Manager and Thorpe Prebend House Caretaker respettivÈtyl both retired due to
Robb's ¢r[li￿1 Illness- we wished them every Ne$51nB. Malcolm Compton also retl￿d after servlng for many years as Cathedral
Hall Caretèker. Amanda Anderson. Ch*f Operatrn8 Officer. a150 decided to leave due to personal reasens ifter an all-totrshort
time with us, as did ourcanon Pastor, aaire Renshaw.
