## **Executive Summary** 

2025/26 has been a landmark year for _Sheffield: The Home of Football_ . Across heritage, education, research, outreach, public art, civic partnership, and international collaboration, the organisation has delivered achievements that strengthened Sheffield’s identity as the birthplace of the world’s favourite game. 

This year has been defined by ambition, collaboration, and measurable impact. 

## **Public Reach & Engagement** 

## **Digital Reach** 

- **2.73 million people reached on Facebook** — our strongest year to date. 

## **Community Participation** 

- **852 attendees** on walks and talks 

- **£5,000 raised** through these activities 

- **£1,806 generated** through merchandise sales 

## **Outreach Sponsorship** 

- Outreach work was **fully sponsored by a Wealth Management group** , ensuring stability and growth.

## **The Crucible Liaison** 

A major highlight of the year was our strengthened relationship with the **Crucible Theatre** . 

- **Four impactful talks** were delivered during the _Ladies Football Team_ production run. 

- **Three outstanding contributions from female speakers** were especially praised by the Crucible team. 

- These events placed a powerful spotlight on **women’s football** , celebrating its history and future. 

## **Hampden Collective Collaboration** 

Our partnership with the **Hampden Collective** deepened significantly. 

- Our support contributed to **saving the Second Hampden Ground** , a major heritage victory. 

- The story gained coverage in the **Scottish Mail** and **The Times (London)** . 

- Related work appeared in the **Stanza Poetry Anthology** and **The Scotch Professor magazine** , highlighting the historic Sheffield–Glasgow connection. 

- We also supported the publication of **Mick’s book** on the club’s history. 

## **Town Hall Exhibition** 

Our **Town Hall Exhibition** showcased Sheffield’s football heritage to civic leaders, schools, and the public, strengthening the city’s cultural identity. 

## **Heritage & Academic Impact** 

## **Blue Plaques** 

- **15 blue plaques** now installed across the city, marking key sites in football’s early development. 

## **Public Art** 

- The first commissioned artwork, **“Heads or Tails”** , was unveiled and warmly embraced across Sheffield.

Our research network expanded significantly, with new or strengthened links to:

- **Penistone** 

- **Shrewsbury School** These partnerships directly support the UNESCO application and future academic work. 

## **Academic Publications** 

- **One academic paper published** , read by **3,695+ academics worldwide** 

- **A second paper** is already in development 

- Our research was also **presented in London** , raising Sheffield’s profile in national academic circles 

## **Outreach, Education & Inclusion** 

## **Schools & Community Engagement** 

Under Andy’s leadership, outreach has expanded dramatically: 

- Stronger liaison with schools across the region 

- Work to create a **more inclusive environment** for girls’ football 

- The **United Shield presented to a girls’ team for the first time in history** 

- Collaboration with the **English Schools Football Association** 

- Efforts underway to **restore historic shields** and return them to pride of place in the Town Hall 

- • Continued support for the **Schools Finals** , reinforcing football’s civic and educational role 

## **Internship Success** 

Our intern **Paul from Lisbon** has progressed to a role with **Real Madrid** , demonstrating the international reach and professional development impact of SHOF.

- **Film Award success** at the Penistone Film Festival 

- The **Yellow Bus World Cup project in Peace Gardens** brought families, schools, and communities together in a joyful celebration of football culture

The company had no employees during the period of these accounts 

For the foreseeable future any employees will be on an agency/self-employed basis to minimise on the national insurance and tax liabilities. 

No trustee’s received any wages for the said reporting period and only expenses were paid upon receipt of the said expenses. 

The items sold via both Merchandise and the wholesale drinks license are solely for the use of the charity and therefore does not require tax paid on them. 

Seeing this year, we generated below £25000  we will not require an audit for this year

Forecast for 2027 Income at the present level should increase as the stock and book/merchandise will show a minimum increase of 500 % on year end trends. 

Expenditure against none reserved projects will remain roughly the same so our projects must grow, we did start completing some of the projects held within the restricted funds. This shows a loss on year end as previous years reserves were called upon
