The community centre does<br>not exist for the advancement of the arts nor is<br>it a cultural centre, it exists to support<br>marginalised artists of various ethnic and<br>linguistic background.<br>The centre can help artists with their<br>communications, offer rehearsal space, enable<br>intercultural collaboration and the creation of<br>new compositions able to draw people of<br>various backgrounds together in events and<br>thereby foster social cohesions. The aim is to<br>develop artist  skills and reduce mistrust<br>between diverse communities in London. Our<br>monthly Asian open mic events bring people<br>together from backgrounds as diverse as<br>Japanese, Pakistani, Tamil, Punjabi, Philippino,<br>S.African and Afro Caribbean.<br>These and similar events:<br><br>Tackle disinformation<br><br>Share safe spaces<br><br>Refocus attention on the positives of<br>‘the other’|
