_“...Estudiantes’ rise in the community is a story of the power of sport and its ability to unite, not divide. Having served as the MP for Tottenham since 2000, and as someone who grew up in this part of town, I know how vital grassroots organisations are for local people. I have seen their importance time and time again. Not every child has the privilege of a secure family background where opportunities arise readily and networks are built with ease. Many grow up in hardship, many have to work for those connections, and many grow up without the right qualifications._

_Against a backdrop of austerity, a global pandemic and a cost-of-living crisis, the extent to which Estudiantes has served to bridge these gaps is remarkable. As a multi-sport, educational organisation, it offers our younger generation the chance not just to play, but to excel personally. A business model that takes the energy and passion of sport - from badminton to table tennis - and channels it for the benefit of hundreds and hundreds of our young people is one we have to get behind...”_

## **David Lammy, The Rt Hon MP for Tottenham Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs**

_"I am immensely proud to see the continued growth and impact of Estudiantes in our borough. This remarkable organisation exemplifies the very best of community spirit—using sport as a powerful driver of educational achievement, inclusion, and opportunity._

_At a time when many young people are facing significant challenges, Estudiantes has created a safe, inspiring, and inclusive environment where talent is nurtured, confidence is built, and futures are transformed. Their commitment to ensuring that every young person—regardless of background —has access to high-quality, free sporting provision is something we should all celebrate and support._

_"I commend the dedication of the coaches, volunteers, and young leaders who make this work possible, and I look forward to seeing Estudiantes continue to thrive as a beacon of hope and excellence in Haringey."_

## **OVERVIEW OF THE YEAR**

We are incredibly proud to have created a free and inclusive community sports club in Tottenham. High attendance and a positive attitude towards education aren’t just encouraged — they’re expected. As a result, our students' average academic attendance has risen to over 95%.

In the face of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we’re thrilled to offer completely free provision to all students, thanks to the incredible support of our donors and funders. On behalf of all the students, coaches, and staff, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made this possible.

We are grateful to Haringey 6th Form for their belief in our concept and for providing us with a welcoming base since 2018. A special thank you to the Tottenham Grammar School Foundation, one of our key funders, for their ongoing support.

In 2022/23, we set a goal to diversify beyond football and futsal, and in 2023/24, we introduced table tennis, badminton, and cricket. This year, we’ve expanded even further, launching a girls' football team and a boxing club. We provided 845 sports sessions this year. Given the costs associated with participating in the National Futsal League, we made the decision to provide recreational futsal only this year, and we thank Tottenham Hotspur Foundation for facilitating this.

We are especially excited about the addition of our new accessible minibus, thanks to the Hargreaves Foundation’s incredibly generous support. Since January 2025, it has opened up amazing new opportunities for our students.

Marcus, our co-founder, envisioned a student-led club from the outset, and it’s amazing to see this vision come to life. Young leaders like Jayden Clifford-Hamilton, alongside coaches Nathan and Clayton, have led an inspiring Under 11s project. Jeremy Jonata, Isam, and Wilson have supported co-founder Darren in leading our senior football teams. Most impressively, Jude Geoghegan has led the inclusion football team with exceptional dedication. Supported by Ashley and Eddie, Jude has created countless opportunities, earning well-deserved recognition, including an Amateur FA’s Coach of the Year award.

Others, such as Levin Dookhun and Sydnee Geoghegan, have progressed into full-time roles at Riverside School and the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, respectively, while Sinhani Quade and Owen Locke are coaching in the USA and India respectively.

We are deeply thankful to Derek May, our Sported Volunteer Consultant, for his incredible service over the past two years. His contributions have been instrumental in our progress. In 2024, we were honored to receive the Sports Charity of the Year award from the Greater London Enterprise Awards, and more recently, in June 2025 we were thrilled to be recognized with the Amateur FA's award for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Looking ahead, we remain fully committed to supporting all young people at the club. We regularly seek feedback from our students to ensure we are supporting them in the best way possible.

Thank you for your interest in Estudiantes, and we hope you enjoy reading our report. Darren Wiltshire

Co-Founder of Estudiantes

## **EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION**

We were exceptionally proud to win the Amateur FA Club Award for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. It was fitting that Jude Geoghegan, Ashley Kasirye, and David Ripa attended the awards ceremony in Central London and were able to go up on stage to collect the award.

We are proud to reflect London’s incredible diversity and are committed to providing opportunities for all. We thank the Amateur FA for recognising our club. We would also like to thank James Tierney and Samantha Brown, who have supported us in so many ways since we started the club.

Top: Jude Geoghegan, manager of our Inclusion Team, alongside his assistant Ashley Kasirye, Inclusion Team player David Ripa, and co-founder Darren Wiltshire, collect the award. Bottom left: Jude leads the way. Bottom right: David, Jude, and Ashley celebrate Jude’s success as Coach of the Year (Disability Pathway).

## **YOUNG LEADER - JUDE GEOGHEGAN**

Undoubtedly, one of the greatest examples of progression within the club in 2024/25 has been Jude Geoghegan. A mainstay of the Inclusion Team since 2021 and a keen participant in the North East London Inclusion League, Jude took on the responsibility of running an inclusive football league at Haringey 6th Form College in 2023/24. Since then, he has taken things to a whole new level!

Jude has led the club’s inclusive provision with distinction for 18 months. His planning and attention to detail in delivering high-quality football sessions for the team have been extraordinary.

The Amateur FA rewarded Jude with Coach of the Year for 2024/25 (Disability Pathway), and he proudly collected the award from Amateur FA CEO Jason Kilby at an awards ceremony in Central London. He has now been nominated by the Amateur FA for the National Award, where he will compete against coaches from each county FA across the country.

Jude has provided countless outstanding opportunities for his team this year, including regular matches. It is no longer a question of if the Inclusion Team has a game at the weekend — it is a question of how many!

Bottom left: The Inclusion Team after their first-ever 11v11 match. Bottom right: Jude with his Student of the Year, Jon Nwanze, alongside the Mayor of Haringey, Ahmed Mahbub, and Rebekah Keane of London Youth.

Providing young people of all abilities with a chance to belong to a true football team — with organised training sessions, regular matches, leagues, cups, and tournaments — should not be underestimated.

The majority of Jude’s 16-player squad have played 11v11 matches for the first time in their lives. Beyond this, Jude has identified additional opportunities, such as joining the Hertfordshire League, which takes place at Watford FC’s fantastic indoor dome. Credit to Watford FC for providing such a spectacular event regularly throughout the year. Jude has also organised games at Chelsea FC and Crystal Palace.

This year, Jude completed his BTEC ICT Level 3 qualification and he will start his degree in Sports Journalism at the University of East London. He proactively designed, wrote, and published an Estudiantes Inclusion magazine, organising the launch event for guests including James Tierney of the Amateur FA.

Congratulations to Jude for a truly spectacular year. Thank you, Jude, for your determination and commitment to making such a positive impact.

## **YOUNG LEADER - TERELL NEWSOME**

Terell has been a key part of the Inclusion Football Team for over

two years. A keen sportsperson, he also demonstrated his abilities in cricket during the 2023/24 season and was awarded Estudiantes Cricket Player of the Year. His leadership and ability to inspire players of all abilities were highlighted by the Middlesex Cricket coaches, which led Terell to apply for an internship with the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Following a challenging recruitment process last summer, Terell was offered the position and has recently completed a fantastic year in a paid internship. During this time, he has grown in confidence and gained valuable skills that will help him take on new challenges.

Terell has secured a place at the University of Birmingham starting this September and will begin his degree course. Congratulations, Terell, and thank you for bringing your positive energy to the club.

## **YOUNG LEADER - EDDIE PICKERING**

Eddie Pickering has made a huge impact at the club over the past three years. An amazing team player who is always there to support others, Eddie has worked closely with Jude to help create an absolutely wonderful Inclusion Football Team.

This year, Eddie has gained valuable work experience at Haringey 6th Form College, where he has done a fantastic job supporting both staff and students.

Eddie also has the best left foot in Tottenham!

We thank Eddie for his dedication and efforts to help all young people enjoy the game.

## **YOUNG LEADER - JEREMY JONATA**

Jeremy made an exceptional impact during his year-long internship with us in the 2023/24 academic year, which was part of his Sports Science degree at Loughborough University — widely recognised as one of the world’s top sports universities.

Jeremy played a key role in significantly expanding our badminton and table tennis provision, while also managing our futsal and football teams. His contributions were instrumental in creating our Elite Football Program.

The Amateur FA honoured Jeremy with their New Volunteer of the Year award for the 2023/24 season. He also received a Jack Petchey Leaders Award for his outstanding contribution to the club.

Jeremy’s impact and popularity were best demonstrated by the incredible turnout of players from across our futsal and football teams for a surprise match organised in his honour.

Although Jeremy has returned from his internship, we have been grateful that he continues to assist the club whenever possible.

In 2024, the funding from Jeremy’s Jack Petchey Foundation Leaders Award enabled us to take 15 students to France via Eurostar to visit RC Lens and compete against one of Europe’s top football academies. It was fantastic to see the team coached by both Jeremy and Isam Belmoudden, a graduate of our club who also completed his degree at Loughborough.

We thank Jeremy for his ongoing contribution to the club and the positive impact he has had on our students. In true Jeremy style, he completed his degree with great distinction, achieving a First Class Honours degree!

## **THE JACK PETCHEY LEADERS AWARD**

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Jack Petchey Foundation for supporting our club. This year, Jeremy Jonata was honoured with the Jack Petchey Foundation Leader Award. The award included a grant, which enabled us to take our elite football team to compete against RC Lens, one of the top clubs in France.

This trip recognised the incredible impact Jeremy made during his internship with us while studying at Loughborough University. Thank you, Jeremy, for the game-changing influence you have had on our club. We couldn’t ask for a better role model for our students to learn from.

## **YOUNG LEADER - JAYDEN CLIFFORD HAMILTON**

Jayden was part of our London Youth employability project in 2022, funded by CVC Capital Partners. As part of the summer-long ‘coach development’ project, alongside other young leaders such as Owen Locke and Sydnee Geoghegan, Jayden started a football school for local children. An accompanying homework club for all participants connected the football school to education. Jayden showed admirable determination and resilience, and the football school gradually grew in numbers.

Two years on, Jayden, alongside coaches like Ashley Kasirye and Nathan Barimah, has created a spectacular project for local children. The team trains regularly and competes against other football clubs. Jayden leads the team brilliantly, always prioritising teamwork and good behaviour. The team has won competitions, including a league and cup double, and impressed in games at professional clubs Luton Town and Crystal Palace.

Jayden has created a wonderful community club and is quickly becoming a great leader in the community. He was even featured by the Premier League, who documented his story. Jayden completed his degree in Sports Coaching at the University of East London this year.

Everyone at the club was delighted when, in 2024, Jayden was awarded the Amateur FA Coach of the Year (Male Pathway). This was a truly phenomenal achievement given Jayden’s young age and the strong competition for the award. The club would also like to express our thanks to Clayton for supporting Jayden throughout the season, and to all the parents who support the team every week.

## **EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION**

Our awards ceremony on June 30th, 2025, was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the educational achievements of Jayden’s fantastic junior team this year. We were delighted to be joined by headteachers from three local primary schools. We extend our thanks to Lisa Wise (Wilbury Primary), Judith Garrad (Oakthorpe Primary), and Con Bonner (St Ignatius Primary) for attending.

Our students of the year from the junior team were Gabriel Onyejekwe, Frankie Webb, Jeremiah Taylor, Chidera Chigozie, and Alvin Kabengele. We also thank the Mayor of Haringey, Ahmed Mahbub, and Tottenham Hotspur legend for making the evening so special.

## **EXCELLENCE IN SPORT**

Coaches Jayden, Nathan, and Clayton have shown incredible dedication to helping the students progress. After two years of training, learning, and improvement, the team won various trophies this year, including their Echo League title and a cup victory in East London, celebrated in front of friends and families who travelled to support them. Congratulations to Jayden for leading such a great project for local children and helping the students build important skills like teamwork and resilience.

## **CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE- AWARDS CEREMONIES**

We hosted three award ceremonies in 2024/2025. The first celebrated the achievements of our Students of the Year. Our boxing coach, professional boxer Dylan Adebisi from Fight For Peace, was our guest of honour and delivered a truly inspiring speech to everyone in attendance. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the outstanding accomplishments of our top-performing student athletes across the club.

The second awards ceremony was organised to celebrate the achievements of the Inclusion team. Planned and delivered by the students themselves, it was a fantastic evening highlighting the spirit of inclusive football. We were grateful to the junior team and their coaches for attending to show their support. Their behaviour, positivity, and patience throughout the evening were truly wonderful.

## **CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE- AWARDS CEREMONIES**

The third and final awards ceremony of the year brought together our best-performing studentathletes since we started the club. A packed lecture theatre at Haringey 6th Form provided the perfect setting to recognise their outstanding achievements. We were exceptionally grateful to be joined by the Mayor of Haringey, Ahmed Mahbub, who delivered a powerful speech about aspiration. Also in attendance was Tottenham Hotspur Football Club legend Ledley King, who took part in an engaging Q&A session.

We were pleased that Graham Kantorowicz and David Kaplan from the Tottenham Grammar School Foundation also joined us, alongside three local headteachers. Also in attendance were James Page and Fran Hargrove from the Haringey Education Partnership, and Cllr. John Bevan who has supported our club in various ways over the last few years. We thank everyone who joined us to celebrate the achievements of the students.

## **EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION**

Isam Belmoudden has completed a remarkable journey, starting from the 14-16 ESOL course at Haringey 6th Form College. After completing his BTEC Level 3 and becoming a key player in our futsal and football teams, he received an offer to join the International Futsal Academy based at Loughborough University. Isam displays a fantastic attitude, which helped him become a leader of the team. He won the National Cup and graduated from Loughborough. It was great to have Isam helping to coach our football teams this year, including during the match against RC Lens in France. In February, Pedro Porro visited us to present Isam with a Student of the Year prize in recognition of his incredible progress.

Congratulations to Isam on his outstanding achievements. Thank you for setting an excellent example for all students at the club.

## **EDUCATION FIRST**

Our club is committed to an education-first philosophy. We use sporting opportunities to motivate young students to excel not only on the pitch but, most importantly, in the classroom.

The introduction of our elite team over the past two years has created wonderful opportunities for young people to compete against professional football teams. In the 2024/2025 academic year, we have been able to provide some outstanding experiences. All opportunities are closely tied to the attitude students display in their education, with regular feedback provided.

Abeeb Salami (pictured right) has had a fantastic year both in education and sport. With 98% attendance at college and consistently excellent feedback from his tutors on the Health and Social Care course at Haringey 6th Form College, Abeeb was made captain of the development team. He impressed everyone with his positive attitude and outstanding leadership skills. He was awarded the Haringey 6th Form College Footballer of the Year award. In May 2025, Abeeb was rewarded for a fantastic year with selection for a game against the under 23s of Belgian champions Club Brugge. The match was played at the incredible Schiervelde Stadium, where Abeeb put in a brilliant performance.

Bernardino Andeme is one of the most outstanding footballers at Estudiantes. We are closely monitoring and supporting Bernardino to ensure he achieves the best possible education. This year, he secured an impressive 98% attendance. An example of our approach in action came in May 2025. Bernardino missed an important game due to not completing a piece of coursework. His attitude improved quickly, and he was restored to the team. Bernardino finished the year strongly in his education, successfully completing the academic year.

His reward was a starting place and the captaincy in a match against Wolves U21s, a game in which we led 2-0 after 30 minutes. Although we ultimately lost 7-3, we were very proud of the team’s performance. Jake Tabor scored a phenomenal hat trick that day and has since secured a professional contract with Swindon.

Above. Bernardino captained us against Wolves u21s

We thank both Wolves and Fulham for providing us with the opportunity to play and compete against top-quality Premier League clubs this year. Bernardino assisted a goal in both games!

Thank you to Wolves and Fulham, and all the clubs who have played against us this year.

## **EDUCATION FIRST**

Another stand-out student this year has been Jayden Rowe. An extremely talented young footballer, Jayden (pictured right) has demonstrated a brilliant attitude toward his education across all his subjects, including BTEC Sport and Maths.

His Maths teacher reported, “Jayden has shown an excellent attitude to his education this year. His progress and dedication in Maths were so outstanding that he was moved to a more advanced group, where he has continued to excel. Jayden is respectful of others and displays humility by helping his peers learn.”

Jayden has also been a key player for the development football team this year, delivering great performances— including a notable victory against Slough Town U19s. His commitment to excellence was rewarded with selection for a game against Bolton Wanderers nder 23s. As always, Jayden showed great qualities, giving his very best to support the team.

Another student who has been an important part of the club this year is Jhon Rodriguez. He has shown a fantastic attitude toward his education and has been rewarded with sporting opportunities. Jhon received excellent feedback from his teachers throughout the year. A respectful and polite student with aspirations to become a football coach, Jhon achieved 98% attendance in his studies this academic year. As a result, he earned the opportunity to join the development team for college games. These games, kindly supported by the Angus Irvine Playing Fields Foundation, gave Jhon a valuable chance to develop his skills. His progress was excellent, thanks largely to his positive attitude and enthusiasm in helping the team.

His dedication both in education and on the pitch was rewarded with selection for the Elite team’s tour to Italy, where they played against renowned clubs Parma and Sampdoria.

## **CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE**

In February 2025, we were delighted to host a special day celebrating excellence in education and sport with the North London Primary Schools Football Cup for local primary schools. We are grateful to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club for arranging for their star Spanish international Pedro Porro to join us, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

Alongside the football tournament, the day also gave us the opportunity to celebrate the incredible achievements of Isam Belmoudden, one of our best-ever student athletes. Isam was surprised with a special award recognizing his outstanding progression—from an ESOL course to completing his degree at Loughborough University, while becoming a national futsal champion. The day aimed to inspire the next generation of student athletes through Isam’s remarkable journey.

Kindly hosted by the ever-supportive Haringey 6th Form College, the football tournament—affiliated by the London FA—brought together local primary schools including Mulberry Primary, St Ignatius Primary, Lea Valley Primary, Lancasterian Primary, and Bruce Grove Primary. Lancasterian emerged as winners after an amazing final, witnessed in full by Pedro Porro.

We want to extend a big thank you to Jayden for organizing and delivering such a fantastic tournament, handling all the administrative duties to ensure the children could enjoy a great day.

We are also grateful to Tottenham Hotspur for enabling Pedro Porro’s attendance. Pedro was amazing throughout the day, taking a keen interest in the tournament, engaging with all the players, and congratulating each participant.

## **THE LONDON FA INCLUSION LEAGUE**

We are proud to run the North East London Inclusion League on behalf of the London FA. This league provides an opportunity for over 50 participants to engage in regular, structured competitive football. We are grateful to the London FA for their support and trust in allowing us to manage this important initiative.

## **SPECIAL REQUEST**

In the 2023/2024 season, the league was generously sponsored by the KFC Foundation. Currently, we are seeking a new sponsor to help cover pitch hire costs. Alternatively, we would welcome any facility willing to host the league once or twice a month.

## **THE ESTUDIANTES ELITE TEAM**

We are incredibly proud to have provided 120 outstanding young student-athletes with the chance to play for our elite team in matches against professional clubs both in England and across Europe. These opportunities are awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in both education and sport, and we have seen firsthand how such experiences can transform their focus and ambition.

Since our impressive 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday under-18s in 2023, and competitive performances against PSV Eindhoven (2-3) and Standard Liège (1-2), we have secured even more exciting opportunities in the past 12 months.

The first major highlight of the 2024/2025 academic year came courtesy of Fulham FC, who kindly invited us to play against their U18 team at their training ground. Special thanks to Ali Melloul for making this incredible experience possible. Fortunately, one of Fulham’s training pitches had just been relaid, allowing us to play on a truly spectacular grass surface. Despite a slow start, our team adapted well and managed to hold them to a 1-1 draw in the second half. This was an unforgettable experience for all involved.

Following that, we took another group of students to visit and compete against RC Lens, one of France’s top football academies. Although we were outclassed on the day and couldn’t produce the result we hoped for, some players shone through, most notably Tami Unuefa, a top student-athlete who displayed remarkable resilience, leadership, and determination.

Tami Unuefa put in a fantastic defensive display against RC Lens, and this picture perfectly captures his attitude on the day!

## **ELITE TEAM**

Following this, we secured an exciting opportunity to visit Italy, where we played against Serie A team Parma and former Italian champions Sampdoria at their beautiful training centres in Northern Italy. Our team performed exceptionally well in both games, competing strongly against professional opponents. Notably, one of our star students on the trip, Gelson Da Rocha (pictured right, playing against Parma), was invited back to Parma for a professional trial.

Left: Yotam presents our club shirt to the Parma Head Coach. Centre: Gelson Da Rocha in action against Sampdoria. Right: Our elite team captain, Yotam Tesfameskel, pictured alongside Sampdoria captain Lorenzo Chiesa.

The elite fixtures continued into May, and we were grateful to Wolves FC of the Premier League for providing us with the opportunity to play against their U21 team. We performed very well, taking a 2-0 lead after 30 minutes thanks to two goals from Jake Tabor. Wolves responded strongly and led 3-2 at halftime. In the second half, Jake completed his hat trick, giving us hope, but we tired in the final 15 minutes and eventually lost the game 7-3. Following his outstanding performance, Jake secured a professional contract with Swindon Town.

We finished the season with a match against the U23s of Club Brugge, the champions of Belgium. Travel was challenging due to the Euro Tunnel closure caused by a stuck train, but despite this, the elite team performed admirably. They mounted a strong comeback after halftime to make it 2-3 with 30 minutes remaining. To illustrate the quality of our opponents, one Club Brugge player had featured in the Champions League against AC Milan earlier in the season. Though we tired in the closing stages and lost 2-6, every team member gave their best effort, and we are extremely proud of their performance.

## **PATHWAYS INTO EMPLOYMENT**

## **OWEN LOCKE**

Credit to Owen for an incredible rise. Owen is now working for Bloomsbury as a football coach. As one of our first and best-ever student athletes, Owen is also an England International with a passion for helping others play the game. He leads on inclusive projects and won the FA Disability Cup in Blind Football in 2025.

Well done, Owen!

## **KIERAN WRIGHT**

Kieran has progressed to a full-time role at his old school, Riverside. Over four years, he has been a fantastic player for our inclusive football team, developing great confidence along the way. After completing his BTEC in Catering at Haringey 6th Form College, Kieran is now leading fundraising efforts to help Riverside raise money for a new minibus. Well done, Kieran!

## **SINHANI QUADE**

Sinhani has been a valued member of Estudiantes for seven years, contributing as a player, coach, and referee. Thanks to funding from the Tottenham Grammar School Foundation, he was able to complete his Football Coaching qualification. He is an excellent role model, inspiring others at the club. He is now working full-time in the USA. Well done Sinhani!

## **SYDNEE GEOGHEGAN**

Sydnee has been a key part of the Estudiantes Inclusion team for 3 years. Alongside her twin brother Jude, Sydnee has helped to lead various activities at the club. As part of our London Youth / CVC Capital Partners coaching project in 2022, Sydnee coached our football school. She now works full-time for Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. Well done, Sydnee!

## **LEVIN DOOKHUN**

The multi award winning Levin! We couldn’t be prouder of Levin’s journey. Progressing from Entry level at college, through BTEC to Full time work at his old school at Riverside in Wood Green. Levin is a true inspiration. He won Young Volunteer of the year in English football and various other awards. Incredible personal and professional progression. Amazing Levin!

## **EMPLOYABILITY PATHWAYS**

Thanks to the support of Tottenham Grammar School Foundation, London Youth, and CVC Capital Partners, we have been able to run employability projects at the club for six years. As always, Estudiantes provides these opportunities free of charge for all students. Like our sports provision, these opportunities encourage young people to excel in their education. This year, through a course at Fulham FC, Moustapha Kaire, Bernardino Andeme, and Jude Geoghegan completed their refereeing qualifications from the London FA, allowing them to officiate games.

Bernardino, Moustapha and Jude after their Referees course at Fulham FC

Alongside our fantastic young coaches at Estudiantes, such as Jayden Clifford Hamilton, Jude Geoghegan, and Jeremy Jonata, as well as those who have progressed into employment like Owen Locke and Sydnee Geoghegan, we are delighted to see more of our students advancing in their coaching careers. To date, 190 students have earned over 250 Football Association qualifications in total. Our awards ceremony gave us a chance to recognize the achievements of four students who are all making great progress in their own journeys within the game.

Futsal player Ammar Algadi is now running a football academy in East London called Footprint Academy. Moustapha Kaire, our football and futsal goalkeeper, is now coaching for Fly For Sport. Saeed Ali is progressing well in refereeing and coaching for Hackney Wick. Abdullah Ghanim, one of our top footballers from 2020-2022, completed his coaching qualification alongside his work as a personal trainer. We congratulate each of them on their progress.

From left to right: Ammar, Moustapha, Saeed, and Abdullah alongside Ledley King and the Mayor of Haringey.

## **COACH EDUCATION**

We were grateful to two world-class coaches for generously giving their time to support our students’ development in coaching. This was part of our ongoing effort to encourage young people to excel in their chosen pathways.

Firstly, Claudio Garcia Lara, who has extensive coaching experience worldwide and currently works for FIFA, shared his insights and answered specific questions related to coaching and team management.

The second Elite Coach Development workshop featured Johnathan McKinstry, the current national team coach of The Gambia. Johnny shared his journey coaching across the USA, Africa, Europe, and Asia. A key takeaway was his dedication to continuous learning through additional courses and qualifications.

Both workshops were well attended and extremely informative. We sincerely thank Johnny and Claudio for their invaluable time and support.

Sinhani Quade attended both workshops, has since completed his FA Coaching qualification, and is now working in the USA. We extend our thanks to Matthew Brown at Community Athletic Solutions for providing Sinhani with this opportunity.

## **FINANCES**

## **INCOME**

From July 1st, 2024, to June 30th, 2025, we raised a total of £98,301. This included a generous £51,814 grant from The Hargreaves Foundation, which enabled us to purchase a new minibus, opening up a wide range of opportunities for the young people at our club.

The next largest grant was £23,000 from The Tottenham Grammar School Foundation, supporting our football provision throughout the year and funding a student trip to Belgium.

Haringey 6th Form College contributed £6,500 towards sports provision costs, including the majority of expenses for our summer tour in May 2024. They also provided an additional £500 to sponsor club kit.

St Ignatius Primary School donated £3,472 to support PE provision at their school, with all funds paid directly to Estudiantes youth coaches.

London Youth and UK Youth jointly contributed £3,000, allowing us to provide employability, education, and sports programs throughout the year. The Jack Petchey Foundation gave us £2,500, including £1,000 to help cover costs for a trip to France celebrating Jeremy Jonata’s Leadership Award.

Additional funding was secured from NatWest, The Woodward Charitable Trust, and the London FA, along with refunded train trip costs, totaling £4,254.

Boosting Your Talent contributed £244 to sponsor our away shirts, many thanks to Claudio Garcia Lara for his support to make this possible.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Louise Poor of CIC Accounting Services for all of her work to help us this year.

**Thank you to everyone who has helped us keep the club free for all young people!**

**All Trustees and senior management work voluntarily on the club and do not take payment or expenses!**

## **FINANCES**

## **EXPENDITURE**

In the financial year ending 30th June 2025, we spent a total of £101,903 on the club. The largest investment by far was £53,399 on the purchase of a new accessible minibus. Of this, £51,814 was for the vehicle itself, with the remainder covering insurance. The minibus has already significantly reduced travel costs and opened many new opportunities for our students, ensuring safe transport—especially for late-evening returns.

The next biggest expense was sessional coaching, which accounted for £20,986. Travel and tours cost £10,789; however, we expect this to decrease now that we have our own accessible minibus, which allows more students to participate.

We spent £6,060 on pitch hire across several locations. While we would prefer to play more fixtures in Haringey, we often use facilities in Enfield and Waltham Forest due to their affordability.

This year, we hosted three large award ceremonies attended by over 500 guests. The combined cost for hosting these events, including marketing and photography, was £2,362. To support sustainability and student development, we spent £1,980 on salaries for overseeing an internship project to upskill students.

Sports kit expenses totaled £1,536, with over 48% of this covered by sponsorship from Haringey 6th Form College and Boosting Your Talent.

Affiliation and league fees for the various teams amounted to £1,402. We spent £1,133 on sports equipment, significantly lower this year thanks to Veo’s generous reduction of recording technology costs. Website, email, and computing services cost £689. Officials’ fees totaled £625. Many of our students volunteered their time to officiate fixtures.

Other expenses included tax (£335), banking and accounting (£324), staff training and courses (£233), and a refunded erroneous payment of £45.

## **RECOMMENDATIONS**

## **James Page Chief Executive Officer, Haringey Education Partnership**

_“Estudiantes are exceptional: combining the power of football and sport with high school attendance and educational success for Haringey’s children and young people. The club have won awards for their work and the impact of their work and are a homegrown success for schools to tap into”_

## _**Rebekah Keane, Senior Programmes Manager (Sport, Culture, Mental Health) London Youth**_

_“Estudiantes London is a powerful example of what grassroots youth work can achieve when it’s rooted in community and driven by purpose. Through our Getting Active programme, they’ve created a welcoming, consistent space where young people can thrive through sport, contributing to their physical, academic, as well as social and emotional wellbeing. It’s clear that the team, led with passion and care by Darren, understands the vital role of trusted adults and long-term relationships in young people’s lives._

_Their deep roots in Haringey and Tottenham are unmistakable; their energy, commitment, and local knowledge come through in everything they do, alongside meaningful partnerships built with youth football provision abroad. Even as an Arsenal fan, it’s hard not to be drawn in by the Tottenham warmth. London Youth is proud to work with Estudiantes London to improve the lives of young people.”_

## **Jason Kilby Chief Executive Officer at Amateur FA**

## **Chris Sawyer Head of Delivery at Sported**

“ _Estudiantes ignites passion for football, but it also opens doors to edcational excellence, personal development and social mobility. The dedicated coaches and supportive environment empowers their young people to excel both on and off the field. Their recognition as 'Club of the Year' by the AFA for their social development work was very well earned and I'm confident we will continue to see more successes and even greater impact from Darren and his team over the coming years."_

## **James Tierney, Football Development Officer at Amateur FA**

_"Estudiantes have had another positive season in providing a football environment to help enrich the lives of young people in the Tottenham area. ## **Councillor John Bevan Haringey Council**

_"I am very supportive of the important work Estudiantes do in the local community, using sport to encourage young people to excel in their education, I have observed that always education is mentioned as so important to the students at all their sporting events. I have seen how well behaved and polite young people from Estudiantes have been at various events, in the last three years. Including when Oxford and Cambridge Universities teams visited to take part in a wonderful three team football tournament that celebrated excellence in education and sport. Tottenham Hotspur were kind enough to support the event by allowing the tournament to take place at their training ground, this was achieved with my intervention, helped by the good relationship Estudiantes has with Tottenham Hotspur._

_I am pleased to offer this reference for Estudiantes, even more so as they work with all ethnic groups and all abilities, to reiterate I really mean all ethnic groups and abilities"_

## **Frank Van Doveren PSV Eindhoven**

_"On behalf of PSV Academy we were happy to host Estudiantes London for a game on Tuesday 28th of May 2024. When possible from both sides, we are happy to get in contact again for future matches. Wish you all the best with Estudiantes London!"_

**Russell Lawrance, CEO Haringey 6th Form College**

## **THANK YOU TOTTENHAM GRAMMAR SCHOOL FOUNDATION**

We are extremely thankful to Tottenham Grammar School Foundation for their continued support throughout 2024/2025.

Our club rewards young people who are committed to progressing in their chosen pathways. One of the most impressive individuals we have seen this year is Yotam Tesfameskel. Alongside his continued educational progress, his rise in football has been remarkable. He now captains our Elite team and has excelled against top teams both in England and across Europe!

Yotam has demonstrated fantastic leadership qualities, always striving to support less experienced players. Despite scoring over 20 goals for the first team—including all four in a sensational victory over West Ham United International Academy and the winning goal against the University of Cambridge—Yotam has remained humble. His first opportunity in the Elite team came at Fulham FC, where he was asked to play out of position at right back. Despite this challenge, he gave his very best and performed well. Yotam’s fitness has transformed, enabling him to compete with top players.

During the team’s tour to Italy, an impressive display against Parma earned him the captaincy for the match against Sampdoria. Yotam put in a fantastic performance, giving his all until the very last kick. Since that tour, he has continued to perform outstandingly well, including in Elite games against Wolves and Club Brugge.

More impressively than anything on the field, Yotam represents our club brilliantly— always respectful and positive. We are delighted to see him doing so well both on and off the pitch. Yotam was the recipient of the Best Attitude award at our annual awards night.

## **THANK YOU AIPFF**

We are extremely grateful to The Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund (AIPFF) for funding additional opportunities for college students this academic year. Thanks to their generous grant received in May 2024, we expanded our program to work with more colleges and young people in the local area. This support has led to outstanding outcomes, including increased playing opportunities and structured football provision for more hardworking students across other colleges.

Yusuf Malik has been a standout player for his college team. He attends the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham and is considered an outstanding student athlete. His performance and attitude have been so impressive that he was selected to play for our Outstanding Student Athlete Representative team. Yusuf continued to impress and joined our Elite team’s tour to Italy in March 2025, competing against professional clubs Parma and Sampdoria. He made a great impression throughout the tour.

Left: Yusuf in full flight against Parma during our Italy tour. Right: Yusuf earned a starting spot vs. Sampdoria thanks to his fantastic pressing.

## _**Student Feedback - Yusuf Malik**_

_**I have enjoyed being a part of Estudiantes. I’ve learned a lot from the players around me. which has pushed me to improve my game.**_

_**One of the best parts of playing here is getting the chance to go up against big clubs. Competing at a high level against top teams is always a great challenge, and it motivates me to keep working hard. I love the intensity and passion that comes with it. Estudiantes has been an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for every moment.**_

## **THANK YOU TO THE AMATEUR FA**

We want to extend a big thank you to the Amateur FA for their ongoing support in helping us run the club, and for recognising and celebrating the achievements of our young people. A special thanks to James Tierney and Samantha Brown for their assistance throughout the year, and for taking the time to attend our awards evenings.

Samantha joined us for our recognition evening and is pictured alongside the Mayor of Haringey, Ledley King, as well as Jude, who received his Amateur FA Coach of the Year award for the disability pathway.

Samantha Brown (right) of the Amateur FA with our Inclusion Team Manager Jude Geoghegan, Ledley King, and the Mayor of Haringey, Ahmed Mahbub.

In May 2025, James Tierney joined us for our Inclusion Awards ceremony, which was organised and delivered by our outstanding young leader, Jude Geoghegan. The awards were co-presented by Eddie Pickering and Sydnee Geoghegan, who have both supported Jude in running the inclusion team this year. Jude also designed a brilliant magazine for the Inclusion team, highlighting all the students and their achievements throughout the year.

## **THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HELP US**

We want to express our sincere thanks to **Marcus Foley** for his invaluable contribution to the club. Marcus was part of our team when we won our first league futsal match — a moment we will never forget! He has been a trusted sounding board for ideas and has always offered fantastic advice to help us stay on track. We truly appreciate your support, Marcus. Thank you.

Thank you to **Paul Ochen Lamolen** for capturing our club’s journey over the years. Paul shines a light on the achievements both on and off the pitch, with an uncanny ability to make even a tough defeat look good! Give it a few days, and, as if by magic, Paul sends through amazing photos. Sometimes that might just be us watching in awe as Lens passes around us, but when we do score — like against PSV and Sampdoria — Paul is always there to capture the exact moment. While the students may not fully appreciate it now, in years to come, we believe they will realise how fortunate we are to have such a talented photographer documenting their sporting journey.

A huge thank you to **Ray Miah** for his dedication over the last five years. Ray was a key figure in launching our inclusive football provision at Haringey 6th Form and has given his time generously to help the inclusion team grow into what it is today. Always positive and ready to help with any task, Ray now serves as a trustee at the club. Thank you, Ray, for everything you do.

In 2023/2024, **Maria Betancourt** ’s incredible work helped us achieve the London Youth Bronze Mark. This involved creating, developing, and updating a long and exhaustive list of documents and procedures. Maria continues to work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the club running smoothly, always willing to help with any task. We are deeply grateful for all the amazing work you do, Maria — thank you!

We are also indebted to Sported for their support since the club’s creation. Their volunteer consultant scheme introduced us to **Derek May** , who has contributed so much over more than two years to help us grow. We were grateful to have Derek visit earlier this year for our match against Bolton Wanderers. Although it wasn’t our best day on the pitch, we appreciate Derek’s commitment to our club and wish we could have put on a performance to match it. We can’t thank you enough, Derek!

## **THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HELP US**

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to **Rudy Wilson** for his invaluable assistance in running our elite team during the 2024/2025 season. We were incredibly fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and experienced football professional coaching our youngsters. Rudy’s impressive playing career includes stints at top clubs like Deportivo La Coruña and Cercle Brugge, as well as representing the Angolan National Team. Both players and coaching staff learned a great deal from his expertise at the elite level. A perfect example of Rudy’s insight came during our first game in Italy against Parma. When we were struggling to influence the game, instead of opting for a defensive substitution, Rudy suggested adding another attacking player to prevent Parma from dominating possession. The tactic worked brilliantly, allowing us to gain greater control with a more attacking formation. Throughout all training sessions and matches, Rudy represented our club with professionalism and dedication. We are truly grateful for his contribution!

We would also like to thank **Jonathan Wiltshire** for his invaluable support to the club this year. Jon played a key role in organising and running the Italy trip —driving the team between games, assisting the players and coaching staff, and helping to build positive relationships with both Parma and Sampdoria. In May 2025, Jonathan crafted a beautiful handmade and painted ‘Club Brugge v Estudiantes Subbuteo Set’ as a gift for our opponents. The thoughtful gift was gratefully received by Club Brugge!

Yotam presents our gift to Club Brugge captain Thibault Van Acker.

In June 2025, to commemorate the visit of the great Spurs legend Ledley King to our club, Jon dedicated weeks to building a Spurs Stadium Subbuteo set, featuring a game between Estudiantes and Tottenham Hotspur. We were truly honoured to have Ledley join us for this special occasion. Thank you, Jon, for your dedication and contribution this year!

# **Thank you to Paul Ochen Lamolen for capturing our year with incredible photography!**

# **A huge thank you to Haringey 6th Form College for providing our club with a welcoming and supportive home in the heart of Tottenham**

Isam Belmoudden’s progression is another incredible example of success. Starting from an ESOL course, moving through his BTEC, and completing his degree at Loughborough, Isam has shown remarkable commitment and consistently displays a fantastic attitude both on and off the pitch.

We continue to see students at Haringey 6th Form making extraordinary progress.

A standout highlight is Levin Dookhun’s inspiring journey— from his SEN course, through his BTEC, to securing full-time employment at his old school, Riverside. Along the way, Levin also earned English Football’s Young Volunteer of the Year award.

Remarkably, Levin achieved 100% attendance at Haringey 6th Form.

Owen Locke’s remarkable rise to become an International player alongside leading various inclusive projects at Bloomsbury Football. Owen is passionate about inclusive sports provision . He is leading a coaching camp at The Shri Ram Academy in Hyderabad in India.

## Estudiantes de La Plata

Our club is proudly affiliated with the legendary Argentine sports club Estudiantes de La Plata — World Champions in 1968 after their famous victory over Manchester United.

We are incredibly grateful to Juan Sebastián Verón, president of Estudiantes de La Plata, for his support of our club here in the UK.

Special thanks also go to Alejandro Mazaroni, Gabriel Pregal, and especially Luis Alvarez Gelves for their continued assistance and encouragement since we began our journey.

We will always be thankful to Nico Cocchiararo, whose dedication and effort were instrumental in getting our club off the ground. His work in promoting our club played a vital role in helping us secure the funding we needed to start.

## ESTUDIANTES DE LA PLATA

Based in La Plata, Argentina, Estudiantes de La Plata is one of the country's most historic and successful clubs. The football team has won the Argentine championship six times and claimed the prestigious Copa Libertadores on four occasions. In 1968, Estudiantes famously defeated Manchester United over two legs to win the Intercontinental Cup and become World Club Champions. Most recently, the club added to its proud history by winning the Argentine Football League Cup in 2024.

**Independent** [The charity’s gross income did not exceed £250,000 and I am qualified to **examiner's statement** undertake the examination by being a qualified accountant _._

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
