through effective fundraising, grant making
and performance monitoring of new and
existing programmes that utilise football to

benefits.
The target beneficiary groups are those from
an impoverished background or with a
disability. The current focus is on helping
young people not in employment, education
or training (NEET). During this year, we have
been doing the groundwork to develop our
first project which will support NEETs by
ensuring they have a trusted adult available
to support them at their grassroots football

second year of the England Football Charity
has focused on finalising the comprehensive
set-up of the charity.
To this end, a wide variety of governance,
organisational and operational activities
have been completed. From a governance
perspective, we have implemented the
required policies to operate, established a
cadence of trustee meetings and ensured
effective ways of working are embedded in
the charity. From an organisational
perspective, we have leveraged Football
Association (FA) value-in-kind support to
develop the charity, utilising legal and
strategic expertise provided by FA-funded
organisations. From an operational
perspective, we have embedded the
necessary financial, communication and
engagement systems to operate, established
relationships with key organisations in our
area of operation and developed all
necessary branding, marketing and
promotional collateral.
Initial fundraising activities and engagement
have been completed, which has established
a number of highly viable donor income
streams for the coming years, as well as

In our role as a grant giving organisation, we
aim to redistribute the vast majority of the

charity, the major element of which will be
salaries. For these, as a minimum reserves
will be held to cover the notice period, with
the aim of building up to a reserves level that
