Charftsble IncotPOTated Organisauon. Durin8 the year, pursuani to Orders of the Charity
Commisslon for England and Wales, the Charity assumed the a55ets and under￿kIng of three
unincorF4Nated charities- The Bathurst Charity {regts(ered No. 209710). Dr Carter's Charity
(re8istsred No. 208251). and The Charity of John Measani (registered No. 208250). This report
covers the actlvities of all these chariues during the year, and financial infonnauon has been

The Bathurst Charity w&$ established in 1868, lo acquire and admi￿er properties in the PaTish of
Debden. Essex & a]rnshouses.
The ￿)jectS of the ChaTity are for the benefit of the publk wSthin the parishes of Debden and
Wimbish, neaT Saffron Walden in E￿x. and include the relief of tM)verty or hardship by the

PTovision and ￿￿]ntenance of alThshouse accon]modation, Residents of the al￿￿houSe5 are
beneficiaries of the Chariry, noi tenants. and pay maintenance contributions. nol TenL Mathtenance
contribuuons are reviewed by the Tn]stees annually.
The almshi)uses comprise four units- two single a]Kl tr￿0 (kiuble (Kcupancy - and during the year
provided housing for four people, OE)e of the single uniLS being unoccupied pending tefurbishment.
During the year, the Charity has carried any necessary ll￿]ntenance work on the propenies, and
has developed plans for a major refurbishment of the two single units.

exercising any wwers or duties to which the guidan￿ is relevanL
Reserves pojky.
The policy of the Th￿teeS is to ensure that the Charliy has sufficfient free reserves to Me￿ cu￿ent
and foreseeable oblfigations. As at 31 DecetnbeT 2024, the Clwiry had free reseNes of £28,661, and
unrestricted reseTves de5ignaieYl for futwe prope￿ mafin￿nance of £14,075.
