|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|The main activity has been to maintain a<br>Facebook community of people who use<br>the Rec, The page has been usedto<br>publicise local events and services, including<br>consultations by the Council and the police,<br>find lost pets and children’s toys, connect with<br>others to play tennis and football.<br>Volunteers also took part in litter picking on<br>four occasions, removing over two skips of<br>rubbish and 3,000 aluminium cans. Planting<br>activities included 3 traditional trees, 450<br>mixed bulbs, ornamental grasses and flowering<br>plants.<br>The other activity for the year was securing<br>£80,000 from the Civic Pride fund to improve<br>the footpath on one side of the Rec, making a<br>better surface for pushchairs and bicycles, and<br>to make a new path from Green Lane through<br>the copse into the Rec.|





|||The Friends have also started consulting with<br>park users about the development of the old<br>putting green area into a community garden.<br>Advocacy with the Council and contractors<br>resulted in the restoration of a hedge for local<br>residents next to the park, and the installation<br>of a new rubbish bin, as well as the removal of<br>approximately 15 skips of fly tipping from The<br>Spinney.|
