MCK – Mary’s Child Kent Registered Charity number 1204242
Annual Accounts - for the year ended 31 December 2024
Independent Examiner- Miss Anne Welch 79, Townland Road, SNODLAND Kent ME6 5RH
Annual Report from Lucy Canham
July 23 – Dec 2024
Volunteers:12 regulars plus individuals who help on occasional basis and 2 drivers.
No of trustees: 9
Staff: Naomi Offer, Jeremy Williams, Jude Andrews
This was our first year registered as the charity MCK after a difficult split with the Peterborough branch. We eventually settle on a parting transfer of funds which was considerately less than we were due, but we wanted to draw a line under the matter.
In this period, we have seen Amazon change direction with their donation policy which has made us focus more on independent fund raising.
We have received grants from DBC, KCC, SPC, Beaverbrooks and many more which we are very grateful for. A selected few are ring fenced for specific areas such as legal or apprenticeship support but generally they are used to supply the food bank for NW Kent.
We could not carry out our role without the kind generation of time from the volunteers and donations from the public and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all and those who support MCK with a launch event planned later in the year.
Basis of this report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general direction by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures and seeking explanation from members.
Independent Examiners’ Statement
I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no materials matters have come to my attention. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order for a proper understanding for the accounts to be reached.
