These volunteers have been on the charities frontline and have been offering 5UPPOrt, guidance and a listening ear to those who have used the service. Unpaid Carers have across the whole of Herefordshire have benefited from our service. As a Service attendin8 to the needs of Carers, we have made a direct impact on the Car and the persons they Care for. We have achieved this by reducing the risk of the Carers becoming physically or rnental ill as a direct result of their CarTng role. Currently 80% of Carers either suffer from an illness or develop an illness as a direct result of their caring role. We have ratsed awareness within the community ofcarers and outside ofthat community ofwhat a Carer is and how to identtfy them. One of the main hurdles we constantly face is Carers not identifying themselves as a car. We have been actively working in the community to educate people on who and what a Carer is, the impact on this would be to reach more Carers making sure they are all benefitting from the seThice. We have reached care before they get to breaking point to maintain their wellbeing and mental health. We have had an increase of Carers to our database over this financial period. We have kept them updated on acttvities and events and have used the opportunity to educate and information share other relevant services.
