## **Objectives** 

We are a small educational charity with the aim of promoting Welsh battlefields through visiting battlefield sites. A programme of events is issued to Society members and advertised on our Facebook page inviting the public to attend. There is also a website containing historical accounts of the sites visited. 

## **Activities Review** 

Site meetings are held during the summer months, these included 

The siege of Dryslwyn Castle 

Following the Twrch Trwyth, Dyffryn Amman 

The rising of Llywelyn Bren, visiting Whitchurch, Gelligaer, Llantrisant, St Athen, East Orchard 

The battles at Pennal Field, Cadair Idris and Mawddwy 

The Society had an exhibition at The Urdd Eisteddfod which included games and quizzes for children. 

The Society attended the memorial weekend and commemoration at Cilmeri. 



## **Achievements and Objectives** 

Through its work the Society has been able to increase the knowledge and understanding of Welsh Battlefields and its associated history to Society members and others. 

## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

The Welsh Battlefield Society is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, whose only voting members are its charity trustees. The trustees are appointed annually at the AGM 

## **Income** 

Our income comes from members subscriptions and gift aid 

## **Expenditure** 

Money is spent on – Insurance 

Out of pocket expenses 

Printing 

Cost of stalls at Eisteddfodau 

## **Financial Review** 

The Society holds reserves for long term planning, emergency situations and financial resilience. 

The trustees confirm that the activities of the Society comply with the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public bodies. 

The trustees declare that they have approved the report.
