## **Trustee Annual Report period ending April 2025.** ## **Introduction and Overview** Charity Details - Cylch Meithrin Gwalchmai Registration Number: 1204130 Address: Ysgol y Ffridd, Gwalchmai, Caergybi, LL65 4SG Purpose: We are passionate about giving children the best start and therefore seek to provide the highest standard in early years experiences for all children in our care. We believe that all children in Wales have the right to Welsh-medium Education. By attending our services and receiving our support your child can follow a smooth and confident journey to Welsh-medium education. We provide full day care, lunch club, wrap around care and after school club to children. Cylch Meithrin Gwalchmai as a charity complies with its duty to have due regard to public benefit guidance. ## **Governance and Management:** Trustees for the Cylch include Zoe Edwards (Treasurer), Bethany Jones (Committee Member) and Rachael Evans (Secretary). These are voluntary roles fulfilled by members of the local community, Gwalchmai. The Cylch is run by a manager and 4 assistants who are accountable to a Registered Person. All committee members, trustees and staff follow the policies and guidelines set out by Mudiad Meithrin, including any necessary training to fulfil duties. ## **Review of Activities:** The Cylch provides essential child care and learning to children of the local community from the ages of 2 to 4 and also provides wrap around care to children attending Ysgol y Ffridd Gwalchmai. The cylch also provides after school care. Throughout the school term, the cylch teach children following the Mudiad Meithrin and Dechrau’n Deg Guidelines. We teach children under the principle of learning through playing. The Cylch benefits the local community by providing essential care to the children of Gwalchmai. We assess children’s progress throughout the year and feedback to parents and external partners as necessary, raising any concerns via the correct procedures. ## **Financial Review:** The Financial Year for Cylch Meithrin ran from the 27th of July 2023 to the 5th of April, 2024. This coincided with the date the Cylch became officially CIO registered. The income for this financial period was £59,704 and expenditure was £40,584. The Cylch received £21,998 in contracts from the Government. The Cylch received £37,605 from 3 grants from the government. Expenditure of £40,584 was due to the amount spent on employee payroll including resources. None of the trustees were paid during this time as they are voluntary positions. Public Benefit: Cylch Meithrin Gwalchmai is compliant with the public benefit guidance. There are no concerns for longevity of the Cylch as a Charity. I report in respect of my examination of the 1 st Saltney Ferry Scout Group accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner’s statement I have completed my examination.** I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the **Cylch Meithrin Gwalchmai** as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
