Notes from a trustees meeting: Present: Val Howe Chair of Trustees Colin Scott Trustee Bob Penney Trustee Olly Richbell Trustee Samantha Jackson Trustee nominee
This meeting enabled all the trustees to meet Sam and welcome her to the team. We are confident she will be an asset. VH told the meeting about the 20 advised policies required by the charity commission. Templates for some policies have already been downloaded. These policies will help guide our work with the Ops team.
All Policies as and when completed, to be circulated to the team for scrutiny and amendments/improvements where necessary.
VH advised that the CEO – sent a set of accounts ready for year end submission. CS brought the team up to speed on the situation of employing a fulfillment house to distribute coats going forward. Their charges would attract VAT. We are not VAT registered BP advised we could be registered voluntarily without reaching the required threshold. This could save the charity money. Short discussion regarding corporate contacts. Short discussion regarding Insurance cover, (not yet needed but soon). Short discussion regarding spending thresholds – (these will be clarified in the spending policy.)
ACTION POINT – VH to start work on Policies.
ACTION POINT- VH to Circulate year end accounts to all Trustees for examination & comment.
ACTION POINT – SJ to look at process of registering for VAT ACTION POINT -BP to research corporate contacts.
